PLC Programmer

The requirements that should be met are:

• Industrial Technical Engineering, specialization in Electronics and Automation or Degree in Electronic Engineering or Higher Industrial Engineering specialization in Electronics and Automation/Master in Electronics and Automation. Higher-level vocational training cycles related to Electronics and Automation will also be considered.

• Handling of Phoenix Contact and Siemens PLCs (other brands will be considered an advantage).

• User-level knowledge of electrical design programs.

• English. B2 level or equivalent.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in advanced developments of control and data acquisition systems using PLC platforms.

• Knowledge of programming in C++ and JavaScript.

• Handling of SQL databases: queries, management, and data processing.

• Mastery of container technologies, especially Docker or equivalents.

• Fluency in Linux environments.

• Ability to develop and maintain scripts for system automation, diagnostics, and management.

• Solid knowledge of network architectures and networking.

• Configuration and diagnostics of routers, firewalls, NAT, and VPN.

• Familiarity with communication standards and technologies:

  • TCP/IP.

  • HTTP/HTTPS.

  • REST APIs.

  • WebSockets, when applicable.

• Knowledge of industrial communications:

  • RS-232 / RS-485.

  • Modbus RTU.

  • Modbus TCP.

• Ability to interpret automation architectures and diagnose communication problems between IT and OT equipment.

• Basic knowledge of industrial signals and instrumentation.

• Ability to interpret basic electrical diagrams, connection plans, and technical instrumentation documentation.

• Knowledge of PLC programming according to IEC 61131-3, especially Structured Text (ST/SCL).

• Experience with PLCs from manufacturers such as Phoenix Contact, Beckhoff, Codesys, or other industrial platforms.

• Other industrial communication protocols, such as MQTT, Profinet, Profibus, IO-Link, etc.

• Development of drivers, interfaces, or communication blocks for industrial devices.

• Development of automation and control sequences.

• Version management using Git.

• Experience with software integration and deployment tools.

• Basic knowledge of industrial cybersecurity, network segmentation, and best practices in IT/OT architectures.

• Experience in commissioning industrial installations.

• Maintenance management, technical support, and incident resolution in existing control systems.

• Highly valuable experience in air quality networks (emission and immision) and/or meteorological stations.

• Knowledge/work under ISO/IEC 17025 Management Systems.

• Knowledge of legal regulations and international standards in the field of air quality, emissions, and low-voltage electrical installations.

• Handling of project management tools

The functions to be performed are:

• Organization, management, and technical execution of automation projects associated with monitoring and control of environmental and process parameters.

• Design, programming, and commissioning of PLC controllers from the leading brands on the market under IEC 61131 standards and internal regulations.

• Integrate typical elements of Industry 4.0 and big data into the control platform through the development of drivers and associated software.

• Integration of PLC platforms in IT, IIT, and OT systems.

• Actively participate in the commissioning and maintenance tasks required by the project, either on-site or as support for personnel deployed in the field.

• Customer service for all matters related to the developed project.

• Technological and market surveillance.
