What we're looking for

  • 2-3 years of experience in:

    • A law firm;

    • An in-house legal or compliance function; or

    • A consulting, risk, audit, or regulatory environment.

  • Exposure to compliance, regulatory, or corporate legal matters is preferred.

  • Basic understanding of:

    • Corporate compliance programmes;

    • Anti-bribery and anti-corruption regulations;

    • Export controls and sanctions;

    • AML/KYC requirements;

    • Corporate governance and ethics frameworks.

  • Ability to review and analyse compliance risks.

  • Strong drafting and documentation skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience with compliance screening tools and databases is a plus.

  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.

  • High ethical standards and integrity.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Experience in technology, semiconductor, telecommunications, engineering, manufacturing, or deep-tech industries.

  • Familiarity with sanctions screening, denied-party screening, and third-party due diligence platforms.

  • Exposure to GDPR and data privacy compliance.

  • Knowledge of U.S., EU, and international trade compliance regulations.

  • Experience supporting compliance audits or investigations.

The role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Compliance Counsel to support the Company's global compliance and ethics programme. This role will work closely with Legal, Finance, HR, Sales, Procurement, Operations and Engineering teams to help ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and industry standards.

The successful candidate will assist with sanctions and export control reviews, third-party due diligence, compliance investigations, policy development, training initiatives, contract-related compliance matters, and day-to-day compliance operations in a fast-growing technology environment.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in corporate compliance, international trade compliance, anti-corruption, data privacy, and regulatory risk management.

What you'll do

  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Company's compliance programme.

  • Assist in monitoring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.

  • Help identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory compliance risks.

  • Support the development, review, and updating of compliance policies, procedures, and controls.

  • Conduct due diligence reviews on customers, distributors, suppliers, partners, investors, and other third parties.

  • Perform sanctions screening, restricted-party screening, adverse media reviews, and AML/KYC checks.

  • Escalate potential red flags and support remediation measures.

  • Maintain accurate compliance records and due diligence documentation.

  • Assist with implementation of anti-bribery and anti-corruption controls.

  • Assist with investigations relating to potential compliance concerns.

  • Track completion of mandatory compliance training.

  • Monitor regulatory developments affecting the business.

  • Support internal audits, customer compliance questionnaires, and regulatory inquiries.

  • Assist with compliance aspects of commercial transactions and contractual obligations.

  • Support maintenance of compliance registers and internal reporting mechanisms.

  • Maintain compliance databases, records, and evidence files.

  • Ensure appropriate documentation of investigations, screenings, approvals, and compliance reviews.
