The role
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic pre-doctoral researcher to join the GREC group at IrsiCaixa.
The successful candidate will participate in biomedical research projects primarily focused on viral infections. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative, cutting-edge research within a highly collaborative national and international network.
The PhD student position will be linked to the project entitled "Unlocking pathways for next-generation therapies: CD169 at the crossroads of viral pathogenesis and immunomodulation" (PID2025-173369OB-I00), granted as well by the Spanish Research Agency.
The role includes working with established technologies within the group, as well as developing and implementing new experimental approaches. The candidate will also be required to work in Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) facilities.
Job duties
What you'll do
- Independently perform daily wet-lab experimental work
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of protocols and data analysis workflows
- Collaborate with research partners in experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation
- Prepare scientific presentations and manuscripts for publication
- Present research findings internally and at external meetings and conferences
- Communicate regularly with the Principal Investigators regarding progress
