What we're looking for
Experience: You have 10+ years of experience combining traditional finance (audit, transaction services, corporate finance, investment banking, or private equity) and finance in a high-growth tech company or scale-up. Ideally, you have done several cycles in companies at a stage close to ours.
Breadth: You have worked hands-on on at least two of the three pillars of a finance function: FP&A and business projection, accounting / financial control / cash, and financing / structuring / procurement. You are a 360 finance profile, not a specialist of one area.
Ownership: You have run a finance function, or a large part of one, end to end, and you have led or coordinated a team. You are ready to build a bigger one.
Team builder: You have hired and developed finance people yourself, and you know what good looks like when you interview for FP&A, accounting, or procurement profiles.
Hands-on builder: You are eager to build things yourself - models, closing processes, reporting packs - not only review them, and you have the drive to put in the work during the build phase.
Learning speed: You understand a new business fast, and you can explain its key mechanics clearly to demanding stakeholders, including co-founders and investors.
Strategic mindset: You think like a business partner, not just a finance controller, and you are comfortable challenging leadership with data-backed recommendations.
Operational rigor: You are structured, data-driven, and detail-oriented, with a talent for spotting flaws and building processes that prevent them.
AI-native mindset: You use AI tools in your work today and have a practical point of view on how they change the finance function.
Languages
Languages: You are fluent in English (the main language we use internally). French is a plus but not mandatory

The role
At Joko, our mission is to we help consumers save time and money when shopping online or in-store.
Founded in Paris, Joko is a tech company and certified B Corp with over 120 talents across Paris, Barcelona, and New York (and beyond). More than 7 million users already save money every day at 10,000+ merchants with Joko.
From cashback and automatic coupons to price alerts, we've kept expanding our products to make shopping smarter. Today, Joko is an AI shopping app: with Juno, our shopping assistant, users can find the right product at the best price in only a few seconds, with recommendations that get sharper the more they use it.
Having reached profitability in our core market, we're now scaling globally, with a strong focus on the US.
It's still day 1, come build the future of shopping with us!
You build the function instead of inheriting it. The target organization - FP&A, Finance Operations, Procurement - exists on paper and almost nothing of it is built. You recruit the team, set the standards, and decide how Finance operates for the next stage of the company. The role is designed to grow into VP Finance once the function is in place.
You get a genuinely 360 scope. Planning, accounting close, cash, financing, multi-entity structuring, procurement, and investor relations all sit with you - across multiple business lines, in France, Spain, and the US, with more markets coming. Very few finance leaders get that full surface at this stage.
You join a profitable company that is moving fast. Joko is already profitable and keeps growing quickly, with new business lines and countries opening. You build a finance function for a company on the offensive, not one managing a slowdown.
You sit at the table where the decisions are made. You partner directly with the COO and the co-founders on market expansion, investment allocation, and business line priorities, with the numbers you built as the basis of the discussion.
What you'll do
This is a builder role. We are looking for a finance leader who runs the core of Finance hands-on today and builds the team that will run it tomorrow. Over the next two years, your mandate is to recruit the people the function is missing, set up the three poles, and put in place the processes that let you step back from the day-to-day.
We prefer to say it upfront: if what excites you is leading a team that already exists, this is not the role. If you want to build one on solid foundations and grow with it, it is a great one.
Build and lead the Finance team: manage and develop the current 2 team, recruit the next hires across FP&A, Finance Operations, and Procurement, and set how the team works;
Own planning and reporting: budget, forecast, and actuals vs. budget across all business lines (Online, Card-Linked, Gift Cards) and geographies. Our modeling combines elasticity-based CAC projections, cohort-based revenue models, and granular bottom-up cost budgets - you will own it, keep improving it.
Run the accounting close and controls: monthly and annual closing with our external accountants across France, Spain, and the US, the audit of our financial statements, and robust controls to prevent fraud and errors. Build toward group consolidation under international standards (IFRS) as entities are added;
Manage cash and financing: day-to-day cash visibility, Gift Cards working capital, multi-currency flows, and our relationships with banks and financing partners. Cash is king - make sure the whole company knows it;
Structure a multi-entity group: how our entities are organized, intercompany flows, transfer pricing, cost allocation, and local compliance as we open new countries;
Be the financial voice at the leadership table: partner with the COO and co-founders on market expansion, investment allocation, pricing, and business line priorities;
Support investor relations: investor model, financial reporting, and fundraising preparation;
Drive cost efficiency: work with budget owners on their targets and negotiate key supplier contracts;
Do the work, with AI: you will be a high-level individual contributor as much as a manager. We expect you to use AI to automate repetitive work (reporting, reconciliation, data extraction) and augment analysis, so a lean team operates like a much larger one;
Coordinate with external partners: accountants, auditors, and financial advisors.
