What we're looking for

  • Experience: You have a degree in business, marketing, or an equivalent track record and you have at least five years of experience in Account Management, strategic partnerships, business development, or a related commercial role, ideally in tech, e-commerce, retail, or advertising. An existing knowledge of the affiliate ecosystem in Spain is a strong plus.

  • Location and languages: You are based in Madrid. You have native-level proficiency in Spanish and you are fluent in English, both written and spoken.

  • Commercial and relationship skills: You have a strong track record of growing accounts and closing negotiations. You genuinely enjoy being on the ground: meeting partners in person, attending industry events, growing your network, and making partners feel valued while turning strong relationships into measurable growth.

  • Entrepreneurial ownership: You are energized by building things from the ground up with a high level of autonomy. You take initiative, solve problems pragmatically, and adapt quickly as you learn what works.

  • Analytical and operational rigor: You use data to identify growth opportunities and make compelling recommendations. You can manage a portfolio, pipeline, and multiple campaigns with strong organization and follow-through.

  • Communication and collaboration: You communicate clearly and persuasively in commercial discussions and work effectively with cross-functional teams.

What you'll do

As Joko's first Account Manager in Spain, you will own the market's first euros of revenue and take the business from zero to millions. Reporting to the Country Launcher, you will be backed by our experienced Online Business team. With Joko's success in France and growing momentum in the US behind you, you will build our merchant business in Spain from the ground up.

Your missions will notably include:

  • Build Joko's Spanish portfolio and local network: Prioritize, sign, and onboard high-potential merchants, both directly and through affiliate networks. Develop Joko's presence among brands, affiliate platforms, agencies, and attend industry events that establish Joko as a trusted partner in Spain.

  • Grow strong partnerships and drive partner performance: Build trusted relationships with merchants, negotiate commissions, campaign budgets, boosts, and exclusive offers, and turn merchant objectives into data-backed proposals. Work closely with Marketing to define communication plans that put our partners in front of the right audience.

  • Drive performance through end-to-end operational excellence: Monitor revenue, conversion, tracking, and campaign results; identify growth opportunities and take ownership of improving conversion through the whole funnel.

  • Build the local commercial foundations: Adapt Joko's merchant approach to Spain and set up the playbookneeded to launch and scale the business, from processes to reporting to tooling.

  • Work cross-functionally to deliver the Spanish market launch: Act as the link between Spanish partners and Joko's central teams, working with Product, Engineering, Data, Customer Care, and Operations to turn local market needs into concrete improvements across merchant onboarding, offer setup, tracking, reporting, and the user experience.

About the company & team

As the driving force that will make Joko a globally successful company, the International Expansion team embodies boundless ambition. The team is responsible for designing the strategy that will take Joko to multiple countries and for coordinating all teams so we deliver fast and efficiently.

The International Expansion team reports to Xavier, our CEO. It is made of a central team and local country teams. The central team is composed of the Head of International Expansion, an International Expansion Manager, and an International Expansion Intern. Together, they build the playbooks, foundations, and operating model that enable Joko to launch and scale successfully across markets. Local country teams are led by a Country Launcher and bring deep local expertise across the key functions needed to launch and grow Joko in-market.

Our mission is to turn Joko into a globally used product. After the US, we are preparing the next chapter of our expansion with Spain as our next country launch.
