We are looking for a Senior Reserving Actuary to join an insurance company. This role focuses on the analysis and calculation of technical provisions and is based in Madrid.

What you'll do

  • Develop, maintain, document, and validate actuarial models for the Funeral line of business, primarily using the Prophet Professional tool, ensuring their correct implementation, robustness, and suitability for business and regulatory needs.
  • Drive the automation and optimization of actuarial processes, contributing to the continuous improvement of operational efficiency and the quality of results.

  • Calculate and analyze technical provisions and other actuarial metrics for the Funeral line of business in accordance with current regulatory and accounting frameworks (Solvency II, IFRS 17, and local regulations).

  • Prepare, review, and maintain actuarial technical documentation, including Technical Notes, methodologies, assumptions, and calculation procedures.
  • Participate in actuarial closing processes and the preparation of financial and regulatory reporting, ensuring the consistency and traceability of results.
  • Define, review, and validate biometric, economic, and behavioral assumptions used in the valuation of insurance liabilities.
  • Perform sensitivity analyses, scenario testing, and stress testing to assess the impact of changes in assumptions, market conditions, and business developments.
  • Participate in the calculation and analysis of Embedded Value (EV) and other value creation metrics, contributing to the assessment of profitability and sustainability of the Funeral line of business.
  • Prepare technical reports and present conclusions, results, and recommendations to various company areas and decision-making bodies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Risk, Claims, Technology, and other technical areas, participating in strategic and transformation projects within the company.
  • IFRS 17: Participate in the definition, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of valuation processes under IFRS 17. Also, monitor and analyze the evolution of results, explain movements and variances between periods, reconcile and compare IFRS 4 and IFRS 17, and prepare reports and technical documentation to assess the financial and actuarial impact of the new accounting framework and support the company's decision-making.
  • Provide technical support in internal audit, external audit, and regulatory supervision processes, such as those conducted by the Directorate General of Insurance and Pension Funds (DGSFP) and other supervisory bodies.
