Purchasing Specialist

Education

• Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related degrees.

Experience

• 7 to 10 years of experience in Technology Purchasing or IT Sourcing, preferably in organizations with high contracting volumes and a strong orientation toward technological services.
• Experience in:
• Software and SaaS licensing processes.
• Management of complex IT service contracts.
• Negotiation with large vendors (Microsoft, AWS, Google, Oracle, Salesforce, etc.).
• Digital transformation and cloud projects.

From the Mutua Madrileña Purchasing Area, we are looking for a Senior Technology Buyer to lead strategic technology categories, drive efficiency, and contribute directly to the evolution of the purchasing model for critical Group projects. We are looking for a person with vision, autonomy, and a solid capacity to generate impact within the company.

• Lead the definition, execution, and monitoring of the sourcing strategy for complex technology categories (software, hardware, cloud, managed services, cybersecurity, telecommunications, etc.).
• Drive the transformation of the technology purchasing model, integrating market trends and industry best practices.
• Develop the annual category purchasing plan, guaranteeing efficiency, cost optimization, risk mitigation, and service continuity.
• Direct end-to-end RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, including requirements definition, benchmarking, technical/economic evaluation, and final negotiation.
• Guarantee the standardization of processes, documents, and criteria to ensure consistent and value-oriented decisions.
• Negotiate complex licensing contracts, managed services, cloud subscriptions, framework agreements, and other technology delivery models.
• Ensure contractual protection in matters such as service levels, security, regulation and compliance, intellectual property, availability, and business continuity
• Build and manage strategic relationships with key suppliers in the technology ecosystem.
• Lead portfolio consolidation initiatives, in collaboration with Vendor Management, improving performance, joint innovation and reducing dependency risks.
• Work closely with Technology Directors (CIO/CTO), those responsible for architecture, security, and business areas to ensure alignment between needs and value propositions.
• Identify opportunities to optimize technology spending and foster synergies between projects and areas.
