What you'll do

Main Responsibilities

• Reporting functionally to the Regional / Corporate Director of Engineering.


• Overall responsibility for the technical operation and maintenance of the facilities, ensuring compliance with: Brand standards (Minor Hotels / NH)


• Legal and regulatory requirements in Spain


• Ensuring the correct operation, reliability and life cycle of all technical assets: 

A. HVAC and BMS systems
B.  Electrical installations and lighting
C. Plumbing and DHW production
D. Fire protection systems
E. Lifts
F. Kitchens, laundries, spa and swimming pools (if applicable)
G. Planning and supervising preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programmes using a CMMS.

• Safeguarding and maintaining all legal documentation, licences and statutory inspections.

• Preparing and controlling the department's OPEX and CAPEX budgets.

• Leading renovation projects, technical refurbishments and adaptations to brand standards.

• Managing tender processes: supplier selection, negotiation, supervision and quality control.

• Driving energy efficiency, sustainability and ESG initiatives, including consumption monitoring.

• Ensuring strict compliance with safety, PCI and emergency plans.

• Leading and developing the Engineering team:

A. Staffing and shifts
B. Technical training
C. Performance reviews

• Collaborating actively with the Executive Committee to minimise the technical impact on the guest experience.

• Being part of the emergency response team and on call for critical incidents.

What we're looking for

Professional Experience

• Minimum of 5–7 years' experience in building engineering or maintenance, with at least 3–5 years in a Chief Engineer, Technical Director or similar role.

• Solid experience in luxury / upper upscale urban hotels or highly demanding complex buildings.

• Proven track record in:

A. Preventive and corrective maintenance strategies
B. CAPEX project management
C.  Energy efficiency and sustainability

• Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams and coordinating external contractors.

Profile and Competencies

• Strong, approachable and technical leadership with strategic vision.

• Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Autonomous, rigorous and results-oriented profile.

• Ability to report technically and financially at management level.

• Ability to deal with owners, corporate, auditors and authorities.

• Advanced proficiency in CMMS, Microsoft Office and technical reporting tools.

Education and Certifications

• Higher technical or university degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, Construction or similar).

• Solid technical foundation in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and building systems.

• Demonstrable knowledge of applicable Spanish regulations: CTE, RITE, REBT, RIPCI

• Occupational Health and Safety legislation

• Electrical, thermal or fire protection certifications will be valued.

• Fluent English is essential. Other languages will be a plus.
