Role context

You will be the bridge between accounting expertise and product development to ensure technical excellence and regulatory compliance of our accounting production tool.

What success looks like in this role

Top 3 responsibilities (high level):

1. Advise the product team, answering questions and sharing knowledge to ensure accounting features are built correctly.

2. Test the product and report issues and feedback to the product team.

3. Train others on the product, especially the accounting side (externally: accounting firms we work with; internally: new hires in product/sales/support), creating the appropriate materials and sessions.

Expected impact in the first 6 months

• Actively contribute to the product launch, ensuring key accounting features are compliant and efficient.

• Document key knowledge about FR ↔ ES accounting and how the ES product works.

• Train the first accounting firms on Pennylane Spain.

• Help recruit and train key team profiles (Partner Success, Customer Success).

Responsibilities

Business expert

• Support product teams in designing and validating accounting and tax features (workshops, prototype reviews, etc.).

• Help translate accounting and tax needs into understandable product specifications.

• Document product decisions in light of accounting and tax regulations.

• Challenge proposed solutions from an accounting and tax perspective, and arbitrate between different user feedback when necessary.

QA

• Participate in defining accounting test scenarios.

• Validate the compliance of calculations, journal entries, financial statements, and tax returns.

• Confirm the expected accounting result of a feature.

Knowledge management / training

• Create and maintain technical accounting and tax documentation.

• Train internal teams on key accounting concepts.

• Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions.

Profile

• Experience: at least 3 years in an accounting firm/advisory/management office, having completed annual closings for companies.

• Experience: mastery of the full bookkeeping flow (no need to be an expert in book closing).

• Tools: experience using A3 for accounting.

• Preferred background: accounting firms (Asesorías / Gestorías).

• Fluent English (not perfect, but understandable).

To thrive at Pennylane, you will need:

• "Tech-savvy" profile (basic understanding of integrations, automations, and APIs) and use of modern tools (Slack, GSuite, etc.).

Contexto del rol

Serás el puente entre la experiencia contable y el desarrollo de producto para garantizar la excelencia técnica y el cumplimiento normativo de nuestra herramienta de producción contable.

Qué significa tener éxito en el puesto

Top 3 responsabilidades (alto nivel):

1. Asesorar al equipo de producto, respondiendo preguntas y compartiendo conocimiento para asegurar que las funcionalidades contables se construyen correctamente.

2. Probar el producto y reportar incidencias y feedback al equipo de producto.

3. Formar a otras personas en el producto, especialmente en la parte contable (externamente: despachos contables con los que trabajaremos; internamente: nuevas incorporaciones en producto/ventas/soporte), creando los materiales y sesiones adecuados.

Impacto esperado en los primeros 6 meses

• Contribuir activamente al lanzamiento del producto, asegurando que las funcionalidades contables clave sean conformes y eficientes.

• Documentar conocimiento clave sobre contabilidad FR ↔ ES y sobre el funcionamiento del producto ES.

• Formar a los primeros despachos contables en Pennylane Spain.

• Ayudar a reclutar y formar a perfiles clave del equipo (Partner Success, Customer Success).

Responsabilidades

Experto/a de negocio

• Acompañar a los equipos de producto en el diseño y la validación de funcionalidades contables y fiscales (workshops, revisión de prototipos, etc.).

• Ayudar a traducir necesidades contables y fiscales en especificaciones de producto comprensibles.

• Documentar las decisiones de producto a la luz de la normativa contable y fiscal.

• Desafiar las soluciones propuestas desde un punto de vista contable y fiscal, y arbitrar entre distintos feedbacks de usuarios cuando sea necesario.

QA

• Participar en la definición de escenarios de pruebas contables.

• Validar la conformidad de cálculos, asientos contables, estados financieros y declaraciones fiscales.

• Confirmar el resultado contable esperado de una funcionalidad.

Gestión del conocimiento / formación

• Crear y mantener documentación técnica contable y fiscal.

• Formar a los equipos internos en conceptos contables clave.

• Animar sesiones de intercambio de conocimiento.

Perfil

• Experiencia: al menos 3 años en un despacho/asesoría/gestoría, habiendo realizado cierres anuales de empresas.

• Experiencia: dominio del flujo completo de bookkeeping (no hace falta ser experto/a en book closing).

• Herramientas: experiencia usando A3 para contabilidad.

• Background preferente: despachos contables (Asesorías / Gestorías).

• inglés fluido (no perfecto, pero sí comprensible).

Para prosperar en Pennylane, necesitarás:

• Hablar inglés (el nivel se evalúa y valora en función del departamento al que te postules)

• Disfrutar trabajando en un entorno en constante cambio

• Hacer de la colaboración una prioridad dentro de tu equipo o con otras partes interesadas

• Tener la perspectiva suficiente para priorizar las acciones de mayor impacto en el negocio dentro de tu actividad diaria
