The role

About us

Powens is the trusted Open Finance partner for financial institutions and fast-growing companies across Europe and Latin America, helping them automate financial workflows, embed payments seamlessly, and turn real-time financial data into actionable decisions.

Headquartered in Barcelona and Paris, Powens operates at the intersection of financial data and payments. Through one platform and two applications, we give our customers the infrastructure to manage finances, automate accounting, assess risk, and grow their businesses.

At Powens, we ask why before we build, we take initiative and see things through, we move from problem to solution together, and we work seamlessly across Europe as one team. If you enjoy pushing things forward rather than accepting the status quo, you'll fit in here.

We are a trusted partner to leading financial institutions and software providers, and we achieve this by hiring exceptional people. Joining Powens means being part of an inclusive, multicultural, and international team of over 130 employees.

About the role

Your mission is to design and implement automation solutions that raise operational efficiency across the whole company. You own the consistency of data as it flows between tools - ensuring information is used the same way and means the same thing across the organisation - and you drive AI and agent-based projects that make operations and manual tasks more efficient, including their adoption across teams.

Automation design & delivery:

  • Design and build automation workflows that remove manual work and connect the company's tools, using workflow platforms (e.g. n8n, Zapier), scripting (e.g. Python, Bash) and APIs.

  • Automate and integrate processes across the operational tool stack: HubSpot, Notion, Google Sheets, Power BI and Looker Studio.

  • Prioritise automation initiatives by operational impact, and come to the teams with proposed solutions, not just problems.

Data governance & consistency:

  • Own the coherence of data as it flows between tools and systems company-wide: ensure information is captured, used, and interpreted consistently across teams.

  • Define and maintain shared standards for how data is structured, named, and mapped across the tools used by different departments.

  • Identify and resolve inconsistencies or gaps in how data moves between systems, working closely with the teams that own each tool.

Process discovery & governance:

  • Manage discovery sessions with cross-functional teams (Sales, Customer Success, Support, Integration, Finance) to map processes, uncover bottlenecks, and identify improvement opportunities.

  • Define governance rules, process ownership, and SOPs, and maintain project tracking and impact reporting (e.g. in Notion) for visibility across the company.

  • Build and maintain dashboards and KPI snapshots (Google Sheets, Notion, HubSpot, Power BI, Looker Studio) for governance and leadership meetings.

AI & agent-based automation

  • Design, deploy, and manage AI-powered solutions and agents that make operations and manual tasks more efficient.

  • Drive adoption of these AI and agent-based tools across teams, ensuring they are understood, trusted, and actually used.

  • Evaluate new AI tools and technologies, and assess their fit for automating operational and manual workflows.

Roadmap execution & monitoring

  • Own the delivery of automation projects end to end, from design through implementation and rollout.

  • Document automation solutions clearly to ensure maintainability and smooth knowledge transfer within the team.

  • Monitor the performance and reliability of implemented automation solutions and propose continuous improvements.

  • Follow established processes rigorously and flag deviations or risks proactively.

Stakeholder communication & team support

  • Provide clear, regular updates on automation project progress and blockers to the Head of Services Operations and relevant stakeholders.

  • Adapt technical communication to non-technical audiences across the business.

  • Contribute to the automation knowledge of the wider Services Operations team, sharing expertise proactively.

  • Coordinate a small team reporting to you

  • Guide and mentor junior team members in their day-to-day automation, documentation, and process-improvement work.

Profile and skills required

  • At least 4 years of experience in an automation engineering, RPA, workflow automation, or technical operations role, ideally within a SaaS / API environment.

  • Good knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash) and hands-on experience with workflow automation platforms (e.g. n8n, Zapier) and API tools (e.g. Postman).

  • Comfortable working across the operational tool stack: HubSpot, Notion, Google Sheets, Power BI or Looker Studio.

  • Experience with data governance or data consistency across systems: how information is structured, mapped, and kept coherent between different tools.

  • Experience leading or contributing to AI-powered or agent-based automation projects, including driving their adoption across non-technical teams.

  • Experience running discovery sessions, process mapping, and defining SOPs or governance rules with cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Comfortable managing projects autonomously across multiple departments, from design to delivery, applying project management best practices.

  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and to document solutions for maintainability.

  • A customer- and impact-oriented mindset: you prioritise initiatives by operational impact and come with proposed solutions, not just problems.

  • Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken), French would be a plus

  • Some experience guiding or mentoring junior colleagues or interns would be a plus

Recruitment process

  • HR online interview

  • Online interview with the Head of Service Operations

  • Case study
