Neonatal Nurse

Mission

Provide comprehensive care to hospitalized patients, promoting health education, in coordination with the rest of the team members, applying the knowledge specific to their role and following the guidelines set by the center based on the care protocols of each area, contributing to providing a service of excellent quality.

Job responsibilities

1. Respect and maintain an appropriate relationship with patients and their families, collaborating in the promotion and maintenance of a professional and respectful environment, and providing information and education that adequately responds to their needs.
2. Be proactive in identifying and communicating suggestions, non-conformities, risks, etc. detected in the work area. Keep the work environment, equipment, and materials in excellent condition so that care processes can be carried out correctly. Comply with the procedures and work instructions applicable to their processes, including occupational health and safety regulations. Complete the necessary records in the performance of their work.
3. Ensure the best patient experience, providing humane, close, and personalized care.
4. Promote an effective interdepartmental working relationship and work effectively as a team member to facilitate the achievement of the department's objectives and goals.
5. Participate in the training of newly hired professionals and students assigned to them.
6. Take responsibility for direct patient care, according to the nursing care plan for the patients under their charge, ensuring their safety throughout the care process.
7. Identify the patient, whenever the patient's condition allows, by confirming first name, surname, and date of birth and cross-checking it with the identification bracelet.
8. Show perseverance and interest in the monitoring and control of the patient, informing them of how their care will proceed and on any other matter required, respecting the standards of excellent quality care; as well as making the appropriate notes in the patient's medical record.
9. Stay updated on innovations in the nursing field and pursue professional growth and development.
10. Function as a role model, helping to organize and supervise nursing assistants when appropriate.
11. Properly use, according to their nature and foreseeable risks, machines, appliances, tools, hazardous substances, transport equipment, and, in general, any other means with which they carry out their activity; as well as the protective means and equipment provided by the company.
12. Not disable and correctly use the safety devices that exist or are installed in the means related to their activity or in the workplaces where it takes place.
13. Immediately inform their direct superior, and the workers designated to carry out protection and prevention activities or, where applicable, the Prevention Service, of any situation that, in their judgment, entails, for reasonable reasons, a risk to the safety and health of workers.
14. Contribute to compliance with the obligations established by the competent authority in order to protect the safety and health of workers.
15. Attend mandatory training courses on occupational risk prevention in accordance with current legislation, as well as medical examinations when mandatory for their position.
16. Comply with the management system procedures, collect the results of their process, and propose improvements for process development, as well as comply with the organization's guidelines on service quality and environmental management.

Education: Degree in Nursing or equivalent

Additional training: Master's or Postgraduate degree in Pediatric Nursing or similar is valued

Minimum experience: 3 to 6 months in a similar position
