The vacancy is part of the Reliability and Maintenance Management (DFM), within the Automation and Optimization Department of the Tarragona Industrial Complex. What you'll do

As an Automation and Optimization Technician, you will play a key role in the safety, reliability, and optimization of the industrial processes at the Tarragona Industrial Complex.

Your main responsibilities include:

Drive process safety, participating in change management, safety studies, technical training, and the development of industrial cybersecurity initiatives.
Ensure the correct operation and evolution of PLCs and industrial control systems, managing their maintenance, life cycles, backups, and incident resolution.
Administer and optimize Distributed Control Systems (DCS), including equipment configuration, alarm management, programming, operation graphics, and maintenance of Honeywell platforms.
Design and maintain the architecture of information systems and control networks, ensuring their integration, availability, and security.
Participate in continuous improvement and process optimization, defining advanced control strategies, adjusting control loops, and promoting operational best practices.
Collaborate on investment and industrial transformation projects, from the design and testing phases to the commissioning of automation, control, and safety systems.

This is a position with a high technical and transversal component, in which you will have the opportunity to contribute directly to the digital transformation, operational excellence, and sustainability of our industrial facilities.

Knowledge

Higher technical education, preferably in Engineering, Degree or Licentiate in the specialties of Industrial Engineering, Automation and Industrial Electronics, Chemical Engineering, or similar.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial environments, with solid knowledge of production processes in the petrochemical industry.
Proven experience in the management, programming, and maintenance of safety and instrumentation systems, as well as interlocks and PLCs from manufacturers such as Siemens, Modicon, and Honeywell.
Experience in other industrial control systems and technologies, such as Woodward, Mark VIe, Bently Nevada, HydroCOM, CCC, among others, will be valued.
Knowledge of programming languages applied to industrial environments and automation systems.
English language B1
Proficiency in IT tools and technical applications necessary for the development of the role.

What you'll do

Como Técnico/a de Automatización y Optimización, desempeñarás un papel clave en la seguridad, fiabilidad y optimización de los procesos industriales del Complejo Industrial de Tarragona.

Entre tus principales responsabilidades se encuentran:

Impulsar la seguridad de los procesos, participando en la gestión del cambio, estudios de seguridad, formación técnica y el desarrollo de iniciativas de ciberseguridad industrial.
Garantizar el correcto funcionamiento y la evolución de los PLCs y sistemas de control industrial, gestionando su mantenimiento, ciclos de vida, copias de seguridad y resolución de incidencias.
Administrar y optimizar los Sistemas de Control Distribuido (DCS), incluyendo la configuración de equipos, gestión de alarmas, programación, gráficos de operación y mantenimiento de plataformas Honeywell.
Diseñar y mantener la arquitectura de los sistemas de información y redes de control, asegurando su integración, disponibilidad y seguridad.
Participar en la mejora continua y optimización de procesos, definiendo estrategias de control avanzadas, ajustando lazos de control y promoviendo mejores prácticas operativas.
Colaborar en proyectos de inversión y transformación industrial, desde las fases de diseño y pruebas hasta la puesta en marcha de sistemas de automatización, control y seguridad.

Se trata de una posición con un elevado componente técnico y transversal, en la que tendrás la oportunidad de contribuir directamente a la transformación digital, la excelencia operativa y la sostenibilidad de nuestras instalaciones industriales.

Conocimientos

Formación técnica superior, preferiblemente en Ingeniería, Grado o Licenciatura en las especialidades de Ingeniería Industrial, Automática y Electrónica Industrial, Química o similares.
Experiencia mínima de 5 años en entornos industriales, con un sólido conocimiento de los procesos de producción en la industria petroquímica.
Experiencia acreditada en la gestión, programación y mantenimiento de sistemas de seguridad e instrumentación, así como de enclavamientos y PLCs de fabricantes como Siemens, Modicon y Honeywell.
Se valorará experiencia en otros sistemas y tecnologías de control industrial, tales como Woodward, Mark VIe, Bently Nevada, HydroCOM, CCC, entre otros.
Conocimientos de lenguajes de programación aplicados a entornos industriales y sistemas de automatización.
Idioma Inglés B1
Dominio de herramientas informáticas y aplicaciones técnicas necesarias para el desarrollo de la función.
