Requirements

What we're looking for

Education: Degree or Master's in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering (Caminos, Canales y Puertos), or equivalent qualification
Experience: In hydrology and drainage applied to civil works projects
Specific experience in road, railway, or other linear infrastructure projects
Experience in hydrological studies and determination of design flows
Experience in the design and sizing of longitudinal and transversal drainage
Experience in drafting technical documentation for infrastructure projects
Knowledge of hydrological and hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, Iber, Geostorm, or equivalent tools
Ability to work in a coordinated manner with different engineering disciplines

Nice to have

Experience in road and railway construction projects
Experience in projects for public administrations and infrastructure managers
Knowledge of drainage design regulations and criteria applied to linear infrastructures
Experience in advanced hydraulic modeling
Knowledge of GIS tools applied to hydrological studies

The role

At SOCOTEC Spain, we are looking for a Hydrology and Drainage Engineer to join our engineering team and participate in the development of road, railway, and other linear infrastructure projects.

The selected person will be responsible for hydrological analysis and the design of drainage solutions associated with linear works projects, participating in the definition and sizing of longitudinal and transversal drainage systems.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working in coordination with the alignment, structures, geotechnics, and environment areas to ensure the correct integration of hydraulic solutions into the global design of the infrastructures.

What you'll do

Preparation of hydrological studies for road, railway, and other linear infrastructure projects
Basin analysis and determination of design flows
Development of hydraulic studies and modeling associated with the project
Design and sizing of longitudinal drainage systems
Design and sizing of transversal drainage works
Analysis of the interaction between the infrastructure and existing watercourses and drainage systems
Performing simulations and calculations using specialized software
Definition of hydraulic solutions adapted to the alignment and project constraints
Coordination with the alignment, structures, geotechnics, and environment disciplines
Drafting of reports, hydrology and drainage annexes, plans, measurements, budgets, and technical specifications
Participation in preliminary studies, construction projects, and technical reviews
Technical support in the preparation of proposals and bids related to infrastructure projects
