The role

Volta is the category-defining, fully vertically integrated AI infrastructure platform - from capital to clusters to software, under a founder-led enterprise. Our mission is The Utility of Compute™: AI infrastructure as dependable and available as electricity, for every organization that needs it. Launched with a $10B strategic partnership with one of the leading frontier AI labs, a Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, and a $5B AI Infrastructure Fund, Volta is building the infrastructure layer of the AI era from the ground up. We are 100+ people across London, Palo Alto, and New York, with rapid growth expectations to hundreds.

The Contracts Manager owns how Volta contracts for its fleet. You will set the contracting strategy and standards used across every project, and lead the contracts leads embedded in each project team through a functional line.

From contracting models and standard forms to negotiation, claims and commercial governance, this role makes sure Volta builds on terms that protect the business and keep projects moving.

What you'll do

  • Own Volta's contracting strategy across general contractor, package and vendor agreements

  • Set standard contract forms, flow-downs and commercial terms across the fleet

  • Lead major negotiations alongside procurement and project leadership

  • Provide functional leadership to the contracts leads embedded in each project team

  • Build claims avoidance practice and manage disputes when they arise

  • Run commercial governance, delegations and approvals across projects

  • Keep contracting standards compliant across multiple jurisdictions

  • Train and develop commercial capability across the delivery organisation

About Volta

Volta is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company that brands itself as "The Utility of Compute™" — financing, building, and operating AI compute the way essential infrastructure like power plants is financed and delivered. The company controls the full stack from institutional capital through powered land, self-built gigascale data centers (using NVIDIA's DSX platform), dedicated NVIDIA compute, and owned orchestration software. It has announced a $10B deal, backed by a $5B AI Infrastructure Program sponsored by Azora and a Series A co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and Altimeter, with over 1GW of near-term power capacity and a 100,000+ GPU pipeline. Volta was co-founded by Ricard Boada and Sofia Gumuzio, both former digital infrastructure investors.

Volta is currently hiring for a range of roles in Spain, including Platform Engineer (10x openings), EMEA operations leadership, project delivery, finance, legal, compliance, and safety/quality positions. The company lists its locations as Palo Alto, London, and New York, and positions joining now as "early-stage ownership with institutional-stage resources."
