Requirements
What we're looking for
- University degree in a scientific, biomedical, healthcare, engineering, or technical discipline.
- Significant experience within the medical device industry.
- Proven experience supporting Interventional Cardiology procedures and working with Interventional Cardiologists.
- Proven experience with Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion (LAAO) procedures, including both commercial and clinical support activities.
- Experience supporting procedures in Cath Labs and/or Hybrid Operating Rooms.
- Experience with cardiac imaging workflows, including pre-procedural planning and intra-procedural imaging.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Strong willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Spain.
Nice to have
- Experience working with Electrophysiologists and electrophysiology programs.
- Experience with Intracardiac Echocardiography (ICE).
- Strong commercial mindset and business development capabilities.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Strong account management and stakeholder engagement abilities.

The role
Abbott's Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion (LAAO) is seeking a Sales & Therapy Specialist, based in Barcelona, Spain.
The Sales & Therapy Specialist is responsible for supporting the commercial growth, therapy adoption, and clinical development of Abbott's LAAO portfolio across Spain. Working in close collaboration with the regional sales areas, the role drives the expansion of LAAO therapy, promotes the adoption of Intracardiac Echocardiography (ICE), and supports the achievement of national business objectives.
The position serves as a national clinical and commercial expert, partnering with Interventional Cardiologists, Electrophysiologists, Imaging Specialists, and hospital stakeholders to accelerate therapy adoption, support complex procedures, develop key accounts, and optimize patient outcomes.
The Sales & Therapy Specialist acts as a key liaison between customers and Abbott's commercial, marketing, clinical, and medical organizations to ensure successful execution of strategic initiatives and sustainable business growth across Spain.
What you'll do
- Provide advanced technical support during LAAO procedures across Spain.
- Act as a national clinical and technical resource for LAAO procedures and ICE imaging applications.
- Support procedural planning, case reviews, and clinical discussions with physicians.
- Deliver product, therapy, and imaging education to physicians and Cath Lab teams.
- Support physician training, onboarding, and certification activities.
- Facilitate best-practice sharing between centers and regions.
- Collaborate with Interventional Cardiologists, Electrophysiologists, and Imaging Specialists to optimize procedural workflows and patient outcomes.
- Support pre-procedural planning and intra-procedural imaging guidance.
- Act as a liaison between customers and Abbott's Clinical, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Customer Service, Tender Management, and Sales organizations.
- Partner with regional sales teams to achieve Spain LAAO sales objectives.
- Support the development and execution of strategic account plans.
- Identify and develop growth opportunities within existing and targeted LAAO centers.
- Drive adoption and business development of Intracardiac Echocardiography (ICE) and imaging-guided workflows.
- Support commercial discussions, tenders, contracting activities, and value-based selling initiatives where appropriate.
- Support national KOL engagement activities and physician advocacy initiatives.
- Monitor competitive activities and market dynamics and provide recommendations to strengthen Abbott's market position.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Sales Leadership to execute therapy expansion programs.
- Support new center activation and therapy expansion initiatives across all commercial regions.
- Build strong relationships with physicians, hospital administrators, and key stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate CRM/SFDC data and sales forecasts.
- Manage consignment inventory and product availability.
- Report Product Event Reports in accordance with company policy.
- Ensure compliance with Abbott quality, legal, and ethical standards.
