What we're looking for

🌳 Selection criteria:

* Proficiency in French, both oral and written (native or equivalent level), as our sessions with members in Quebec are conducted primarily in French.

* Hold the right to practice psychotherapy in Quebec, meaning one of the following statuses:

Psychologist in good standing with the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ); or

Holder of the psychotherapist permit issued by the OPQ, as a member in good standing of a qualified professional order—including the Ordre des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec (OTSTCFQ) or the Ordre des conseillers et conseillères d'orientation du Québec (OCCOQ); or

* Physician, member of the Collège des médecins du Québec, authorized to practice psychotherapy.

Recognized French proficiency for professional order admission: candidates who did not complete their studies in French must have passed the French exam of the Office québécois de la langue française (OQLF), in accordance with the Charter of the French language.

* Solid knowledge of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), schema therapy, EMDR, or ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).

* Expertise in areas that match our members' needs: stress, burnout, self-esteem, depression, and trauma.

* Specialization in adult therapy.

* A minimum of 5 to 7 years of professional experience.

* Availability of at least 3 hours per week.

* Strong comfort with digital tools and platforms.

* Proof of professional liability insurance (minimum CA$5M).

Nice to have

⭐ Additional assets:

* Proficiency in another language (English, Spanish, Arabic, Creole, etc.).

* A license to practice in another province (e.g., Ontario, British Columbia, or Alberta).

* Training in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).

The process takes place in two steps. You'll, of course, have the opportunity to ask all your questions: we're looking for exceptional people and want you to fully understand the adventure that awaits you.

* First interview:

* Meeting with the Alan team (30-45 minutes), to get to know each other and clarify our organization and expectations.

* Second interview:

* Technical interview (45 minutes) with Lydia Martin, Head of Alan's Global Mental Health Program. With a PhD in psychology, she will discuss your expertise and therapeutic knowledge.

Feedback: In the spirit of transparency that defines Alan, we strive to provide feedback at every stage and to get back to you within 48 hours (weekends don't count!).
