As a RAN Technology Expert, you will act as a key technology reference for the future evolution of Telefónica's mobile networks. You will evaluate emerging technologies, define strategic positioning, assess business opportunities and support major transformation initiatives across the Group. Working closely with operating businesses, technology partners, vendors and industry stakeholders, you will help shape the future of connectivity while translating technical innovation into strategic business value.
How will you contribute to the purpose of the role? 💼
You will:
Evaluate emerging radio technologies and define Telefónica's positioning on 5G Advanced, 6G and future network architectures.
Analyze AI-native RAN, AI-RAN and distributed computing trends, assessing their technical, operational and business impact.
Monitor industry developments across operators, vendors and the broader technology ecosystem.
Lead technical assessments, RFIs, PoCs and technology evaluations with partners and suppliers.
Assess the impact of new technologies on network performance, architecture, security, costs and operational models.
Support operating businesses in technology roadmap definition and strategic decision-making.
Prepare executive-level analyses, technology assessments and recommendations.
Coordinate initiatives and align stakeholders across Telefónica's global organization.
Identify opportunities enabled by advanced network capabilities, automation and AI-driven technologies.
