The role
Want to shape how millions of customers experience Amazon in their own language? The country launch team owns the end-to-end content localization strategy for launching Amazon into new countries. As a Program Manager on this team, you will drive international expansion launches across multiple business lines, own localization scope and cost decisions, and build scalable frameworks that let us take on more launches without adding complexity or slowing down.
What you'll do
Key job responsibilities
- Own country launch readiness end-to-end: Drive localization planning from intake through go-live, coordinating cross-functionally to deliver launches on time
- Make scope and cost decisions: Prioritize and phase localization scope to maximize impact while keeping programs on budget, applying optimization strategies to eliminate waste and keep programs on budget
- Drive cross-functional alignment: Keep all workstreams in sync when business priorities shift, so no team is working on outdated plans or spending against cancelled scope
- Build and enforce governance: Stand up intake processes, define readiness criteria, and manage financial controls that bring consistency and predictability to every launch
- Deliver quality at scale: Partner with expansion business teams to set and maintain a high bar for localized content, coordinate UAT, triage issues, and make readiness recommendations to business owners
- Scale through process: Design repeatable frameworks, runbooks, and playbooks that capture what works and make each launch easier than the last
- Manage stakeholders and communicate clearly: Engage in planning cycles, forecast costs, report status to sr.leadership, and run postmortems to turn every launch into a learning opportunity
- Identify AI-driven automation opportunities: Identify and pilot AI/ML solutions, including generative AI and LLM-based approaches, to automate manual processes and reduce program costs
- Onboard new business lines: Bring new businesses into the localization framework, define the right level of support, and build a path toward full self-service over time
