Senior BI Developer (Looker and LookML Expert)

• Experience: +4 years of solid experience in Business Intelligence solution development and Analytics Engineering.

• Expert Level in Looker & LookML: Advanced mastery in LookML code definition (Explores, Views, access/datagroup management, liquid HTML/SQL, etc.).

• BigQuery Integration: Demonstrable experience in integrating Looker over Google BigQuery and knowledge of query performance optimization techniques.

• Version Control and Git: Good development practices using Git integrated within the Looker workflow.

• Data Modeling: Solid knowledge in dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schemas) and definition of abstraction/semantic layers for analytics.

• Official Looker Business Analyst or Looker Developer certification.

• Advanced SQL knowledge for the construction and debugging of Derived Tables.

• Previous experience with other tools in the Google Cloud ecosystem (BigQuery, dbt, etc.).

As a Senior BI Developer specializing in Looker, your main focus will be the design and development of the semantic layer, analytical data governance, and the deployment of business-oriented Business Intelligence solutions.

You will work defining scalable LookML models, optimized to connect against BigQuery, and ensuring that decision-making areas have reliable, unified, and high-performance metrics.

• Semantic Layer Development in LookML: Design, build, and maintain the company's semantic layer using LookML (advanced creation of Views, Explores, Dimensions, Measures, and Derived Tables).

• Dashboard and Report Deployment: Design and build interactive, business decision-oriented analytical dashboards and reports in Looker.

• Looker & BigQuery Optimization: Guarantee maximum performance in data querying, optimizing connections with BigQuery, use of PDTs (Persistent Derived Tables), caching, and cost/slot optimization.

• Data Governance and Best Practices: Apply development standards, version control via Git within Looker (pull requests, development/production environments), and governance in access to key metrics.

• Business Relationship and Mentoring: Translate business needs into analytical requirements, promote data self-service (self-service BI), and drive best practices within the team.

• Hybrid format, 2 days in person at the client's offices (Paseo de la Habana 74, Madrid).
