About the role
We're looking for a Senior Performance Test Engineer to join our team in Madrid, Spain in a hybrid working mode. In this role, you will design, implement and execute performance testing and synthetic monitoring solutions, ensuring system scalability, stability and reliability for business-critical applications. You will work closely with development teams and stakeholders to identify performance bottlenecks, optimize application responsiveness and deliver actionable insights that drive continuous improvement across technology platforms.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute as both a technical expert and trusted advisor, influencing testing strategies and strengthening the organization's observability and performance engineering capabilities.
What you'll do
- Design, develop and execute performance and load tests for enterprise-grade applications and services
- Implement and maintain synthetic monitoring solutions to evaluate system availability and user experience
- Analyze performance test results and produce clear reports with optimization recommendations
- Review performance and monitoring code in Java, JavaScript or TypeScript for compliance with standards
- Act as a trusted advisor in defining performance testing strategies and monitoring best practices
- Identify performance bottlenecks across applications, APIs and infrastructure, recommending improvements
- Enhance test environments, automation frameworks and CI/CD integrations to support continuous testing
- Ensure test assets and processes remain scalable, maintainable and aligned with SDLC quality practices

Requirements
- Several years of hands-on experience in performance testing or performance engineering roles
- Proficiency in Playwright (Java, TypeScript) and Grafana k6 (JavaScript) for performance automation
- Experience integrating tests with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins or Bitbucket
- Strong understanding of performance engineering principles, APIs, cloud-native applications and networking
- Proven ability to communicate technical results and translate them into business-relevant insights
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace
- Knowledge of performance metrics, OpenTelemetry concepts, distributed tracing and E2E analysis
- Excellent communication, stakeholder collaboration and problem-solving skills
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline
- Fluent English proficiency (B2 or higher)
