Data Architect – Lakehouse & Analytics

We are looking for people with a background in Computer Engineering, Business Analytics, Business Administration, or Data Governance, and solid experience in data architecture and complex analytical platforms. We value having worked with Lakehouse environments, distributed processing, and hybrid on-premise and cloud architectures, as well as knowledge of Cloudera, Apache Iceberg, dbt, PySpark, SQL, GCP, Azure, Oracle DWH, and Denodo. Mastery of data modeling, integration, governance, and security, and the ability to translate business needs into architectural decisions is key.

We would like you to be able to bring experience in retail, consumer goods, supply chain, pricing, loyalty, or e-commerce, as well as in machine learning platforms, MLOps, GenAI, and approaches such as data products, data mesh, or federated governance.

Data Architect – Lakehouse & Analytics

At Eroski, we are undertaking a strategic process to evolve our data and analytics ecosystem, and we are looking to bring in a Data Architect – Lakehouse & Analytics to lead the definition of the target architecture and accompany the transition from current environments towards a modern, scalable, and governed Lakehouse model, which enables advanced analytics, machine learning, and future AI/GenAI use cases.

What will your mission be?

• Define the target data architecture and the transition roadmap from the current ecosystem towards a Lakehouse model.

• Design patterns for data ingestion, transformation, modeling, consumption, and governance, ensuring scalable solutions aligned with the business.

• Guarantee the coexistence and evolution of legacy and target environments (Oracle DWH, Denodo, Cloudera, and cloud), as well as the enablement of reporting, advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI/GenAI use cases on GCP and Vertex AI.

• Establish design standards for data products, semantic layers, quality, lineage, security, and data observability.

• Collaborate closely with business, analytics, engineering, and platforms, participating in key technological decisions, prioritization of initiatives, and the definition of data architecture and engineering best practices. As well as other functions and responsibilities inherent to the role.
