Are you a Polymer technology expert ready for a next step? And, are you looking to join an international team in a sustainable and people centric international company leader in the chemical sector?

If yes, it might be interesting for you to know we are currently looking for a Global Polymer Process Technology Manager to join the company, based in Barcelona.

This person will be responsible for developing, deploying and maintaining all the Technology & Engineering standards related to polymer coatings operations.

The main responsibilities and requirements of this role will be the following:

  • Develop, communicate and maintain the Engineering & Technology standards required to drive excellence in polymer coatings manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure the standards are operations centric and address the needs of all sites by establishing and leading Reference Group(s) of key stakeholders; detailing the key safety, quality and sustainability aspects while ensuring the right balance of value for money and total cost of ownership.
  • Build capability in polymer process engineering, continuous improvement and asset optimization.
  • Develop and drive innovation and development plans with identified key suppliers to deliver process improvement, innovation and cost reductions.
  • Support and guide the implementation of the standards across the product network by acting as technology licensor and by coaching local project/engineering teams.
  • Participate in site master planning sessions to define 3 - 5yr development plans and embed leading edge technology where applicable.
  • Lead the validation of new technology and the first introduction of new standards to achieve a repeatable, proven and scalable solution.

And who you'll be?

  • > 10 years of experience in Polymer coatings manufacturing, or similar extrusion and dry milling operations (project management, maintenance/engineering & operations management).
  • Technical university degree in Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Work experience as a technical manager and/or operations management.
  • A data driven, continuous improvement mindset with strong analytical abilities.
  • Strong skills in project planning and execution in an international environment.
  • Ability to multitask and lead change in challenging times.
  • Excellent problem solving and risk management skills.
  • Coaching and influencing skills in a matrix organization.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).
