About the role

We are looking for a Purchasing Technician for an important food sector company located in Vilassar de Mar (Barcelona).

What you'll do

Functions

  • Management and monitoring of assigned categories and suppliers.
  • Market research, search for new suppliers and analysis of supply alternatives.
  • Request and analysis of offers, quotes and supplier comparisons.
  • Negotiation of prices, discounts, payment terms, delivery times and other commercial conditions.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and resolving supply, quality and commercial condition issues.
  • Analysis of purchasing costs, rates, margins and profitability by product and category.
  • Planning and monitoring of stock, coverage, turnover, stockouts and supply needs.
  • Coordination of product additions, removals and changes, as well as supplier approval together with Quality.
  • Preparation of reports and purchasing analyses to support decision-making.
  • Coordination with Logistics, Warehouse, Production, Sales, Marketing, Retail and Food Service.
  • Functional coordination with the Purchasing Administrative Assistant for the correct execution of operations.
  • Participation in the continuous improvement of processes, systems and reporting of the Purchasing department.

What we're looking for

  • A Higher Degree in Administration and Finance, Commercial Management or similar will be positively valued.
  • A university degree related to Business, Economics, Logistics or Supply Chain is a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in tactical purchasing, procurement or category management, preferably in food distribution, fast-moving consumer goods, HORECA, Retail or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in supplier negotiation, cost and margin analysis, rate management and stock planning and control.
  • Experience working with a high volume of references.
  • Experience in monitoring and resolving supply and supplier issues.
  • Intermediate/advanced level of Excel, with the ability to work independently with large volumes of data and perform comparisons and analyses.
  • Experience with ERP systems related to purchasing, procurement, suppliers, rates, orders and stock.
  • Experience with Odoo will be positively valued.
  • Knowledge of Power BI and Business Intelligence tools is a plus.
  • Regular use of Outlook and the Office package.
  • An organized, analytical, autonomous person with negotiation skills.
  • Results, profitability and continuous improvement orientation.
  • Planning, anticipation and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and coordination skills with suppliers and different internal departments.
  • Experience in food products, private label, packaging, wrapping or consumables for food service and Retail is a plus.

  • Permanent contract.
  • Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.
  • Approximate schedule from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
