The role

Ingeteam, a leading company specialized in electrical engineering and the development of electrical equipment, motors, generators, and frequency converters, is looking to hire a Hardware Control Engineer for the Aeronautical Sector at its facilities in Zamudio.

Your mission will be to design and validate hardware elements related to electric propulsion and energy conversion. More specifically, you will be responsible for the design of the digital control board, necessary for the regulation, control, communications, and safety of the electric machine (DCAC inverter) and converters (DCDC).

You will join the company's R&D department within a multidisciplinary team focused on aeronautical systems.

What you'll do

-Analyze the state of the art in control hardware for aeronautical electric propulsion systems and converters, and subsequently, based on requirements, lead the concept design, schematics, manufacturing, validation, and final testing.

-Analyze customer specifications, breaking down the specification and defining the requirements applicable to the hardware design. Manage requirements, ensuring traceability against the design and verification tests.

-Manage design changes, as well as collaborate, define, and agree with the rest of the design departments, considering their impact.

-Design schematics and layouts, considering manufacturing recommendations, requirements, EMC rules, and the applicable regulatory level (DAL A, B, C, D or ASIL D, C, B, A or SIL 2, 3, 4), for the control electronics.

-Monitor compliance with the standard, whether with external or internal agents.

-Procure basic components and track them through the manufacturing and assembly stages, until functional boards are obtained.

-Draft the validation and verification plan, as well as monitor testing.

Minimum requirements

-Know the design fundamentals based on the aeronautical standard DO-254 (Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware), or alternatively, have knowledge of development under other standards (e.g., ISO26262), following the V-model development cycle.
