Junior Financial Instruments Consultant

In the Financial Instruments team at KPMG, you will have the opportunity to participate in consulting, auditing, and regulatory projects related to financial instruments, credit and market risks, as well as model development or valuation.

• You will collaborate on accounting or regulatory consulting projects related to the application and interpretation of IFRS and banking regulations.
• You will contribute to resolving accounting queries for clients across various sectors (hedging relationships or derivatives, restructuring of financial liabilities, factoring/confirming operations, etc.).
• You will provide support in specialized auditing of financial instruments, documenting controls and performing substantive procedures to verify the correct classification and measurement of financial instruments under IFRS 9, and to ensure the proper application of hedge accounting.
• Support in credit risk auditing, especially in reviewing gross credit exposure, collateral valuation, and estimating collective and individual provisions.
• Assistance in implementing accounting and prudential regulations (IFRS 9, IFRS 13, new definition of default), adapting origination, monitoring, and classification processes to new regulatory requirements.
• You will participate in the analysis and valuation of financial instruments, as well as in the assessment of market and credit risks.
• Support in preparing and validating regulatory reports required by supervisors, such as confidential returns, intragroup financial transactions, solvency, or individual annual accounts.
• Collaborate on analysis tasks related to liquidity risk, market risk, or operational risk.

• We are looking for people interested in financial markets, accounting, and risk management, within a highly technical and regulatory environment.
• Be a graduate in the area of Business Analytics, Business Analytics and Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, Finance, Banking and Insurance, Master's in Auditing, Master's in Finance and Accounting and/or similar fields.
• Basic knowledge of accounting regulations (IFRS, Spanish General Accounting Plan) and valuation of financial instruments.
• Analytical skills, proactive attitude, and critical thinking.
• Proficiency in Excel, Bloomberg, Reuters, or other financial data sources will be valued.
• Motivation to learn and grow in a collaborative, dynamic, and demanding environment.
