Graduate or final-year student in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or similar technical degrees. We are looking for a junior profile with an already acquired technical foundation in systems and infrastructure, capable of working with Linux, scripting, and concepts of networks, servers, and automation, and with an interest in continuing to develop in complex enterprise environments.

Knowledge of:

  • Systems and infrastructure: Linux / Unix Systems: BAU, service monitoring, documentation, inventory, change management, incidents, and problems.
  • Automation: Ansible, basic Shell/Python, GitHub, automation of operational tasks.

At Mapfre, we are looking for a Junior Engineer to participate in the management of an enterprise infrastructure service, especially Unix/Linux environments, participating in its operation, automation, security, patching, and continuous improvement. You will also have the opportunity to learn about Cloud and container technologies, as well as infrastructure transformation and automation processes.

What you'll do

Support the daily monitoring and operation of the Unix/Linux service, learning how servers and platforms are managed in an enterprise environment.

Collaborate in the automation of system administration tasks, especially through Ansible and Shell/Python scripting.

Participate in the evolution of server hardening automation, helping to standardize and improve system security configurations.

Collaborate in the identification, analysis, monitoring, and remediation of security findings and vulnerabilities.

Participate in the patching and updating processes of Unix/Linux systems, learning how these actions are planned, automated, executed, and verified.

Support change management and monitoring, including the preparation of actions, documentation, evidence, and monitoring of their execution.

Participate in the monitoring of the service's BAU (Business as Usual) activity: tasks, incidents, maintenance, problems, and improvement actions.

Collaborate in the DCS Shield 180 project, aimed at improving proactive vulnerability management and reducing the security exposure of systems.

Participate in process improvement through automation, seeking to reduce manual tasks and make operations more repeatable, traceable, and secure.

Use GitHub and Git flow to version scripts, automation, and configurations, and learn how pipelines and GitHub Actions work.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation in Markdown, SharePoint, or Confluence, and manage task tracking using kanban boards.

Progressively learn about other platforms managed by the team, including Cloud and containers, and how they integrate with traditional infrastructure.
