What we're looking for

Essential requirements

Experience with:
Java 17+ (Streams, Lambdas, Optional, CompletableFuture)
Spring Boot 3.x (Web, Data JPA, Spring Cloud Stream)
Relational databases (PostgreSQL and/or Oracle)
JPA / Hibernate and query optimization
REST APIs (design and implementation with OAS3)
Testing with TDD, JUnit 5, Mockito, Testcontainers
CI/CD with GitHub and GitHub Actions
Basic knowledge of cloud environments (AWS: EKS, S3, containers)
Experience in backend development in production environments

Nice to have

Preferred qualifications

Experience in event-driven architecture (1-2 years)
Knowledge of Kafka (producers, consumers, topics, partitions, offsets, consumer groups)
Use of Redis as cache
Reactive programming (WebFlux)
Knowledge of patterns such as SAGA
Experience in the banking or fintech sector
Intermediate English level

The role

At Métrica Consulting, we are looking for a Backend Developer with experience in JAVA to join a strategic microservices development project.

The mission of the position will be to implement microservices under the guidance of senior profiles, actively participating in the development of business logic, Kafka consumers, data persistence, and testing.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

Development of microservices with Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.x
Implementation of business logic in distributed environments
Development of RESTful APIs following best practices (OAS3)
Persistence management with JPA/Hibernate on PostgreSQL and/or Oracle
Development and consumption of events (Kafka)
Writing unit and integration tests (TDD)
Participation in CI/CD pipelines with GitHub and GitHub Actions
Collaboration with technical teams in cloud environments (AWS)
