We are looking to add a Senior Middleware Technician to our team with solid and demonstrable experience in the administration and operation of Apache Kafka and Confluent Platform in complex production environments. The ideal candidate will be a proactive professional, with great analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of working autonomously and leading technical initiatives related to the Kafka ecosystem.

You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our event messaging platforms, as well as providing expert support to the development and business teams that consume and produce data through Kafka.

• Administration, operation, and maintenance of Apache Kafka and Confluent Platform clusters in production environments.
• Management and optimization of Topics, Partitions, and Cluster Configurations.
• Implementation and administration of Kafka Connect and its respective Connectors for data ingestion and export.
• Management and configuration of the Schema Registry for data schema governance and evolution.
• Development and optimization of Producers/Consumers to ensure correct integration and data flow.
• Use and administration of KSQL/ksqlDB for real-time data stream processing.
• Implementation and maintenance of exhaustive monitoring strategies to proactively detect, diagnose, and resolve performance and stability issues.
• Diagnosis and resolution of complex incidents (troubleshooting) in the Kafka ecosystem.
• Planning and execution of updates, patches, and changes in production platforms with the minimum possible impact.
• Implementation and validation of security measures to protect platforms and transmitted data.
• Platform performance analysis and optimization to guarantee scalability and low latency.
• Providing advanced-level technical support to development teams and other Kafka consumer/producer technical teams.
• Detailed technical documentation of configurations, procedures, and solutions.
• Participation in the definition of architecture and best practices for the use of Kafka within the organization.
• Availability to perform after-hours actions and on-call shifts depending on criticality and service needs.
