What we're looking for

To succeed in this role and feel comfortable with the day-to-day technical challenges, we require:

  • Required accreditation: To be an accredited/authorized technician for subfield B of EC-A.

  • Minimum qualification: University Degree (scientific or technical branch), or Higher Technician (CFGS). Intermediate Technician (CFGM) is also accepted if a minimum of 1 year of experience in pollutant determination is provided.

  • Theoretical knowledge: Solid knowledge of state and Catalan legislation regarding prevention, control, and atmospheric emissions. Knowledge of UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17020 and 17025 standards applied to in situ measurements.

  • Office automation: Proficiency in the Office suite.

  • Other: Driver's license and Spanish and Catalan languages.

The role

The main purpose of this position is to act as an authorized technician to execute the sampling and determination of atmospheric pollutants (DMCA), ensuring strict compliance with the entity's procedures and the technical instructions of Catalonia (IT-200-A, IT-200-B and SVCA guidelines).

What you'll do

  • Execution of measurements and sampling of pollutants emitted to the atmosphere from stationary sources, applying isokinetic sampling techniques (particles and gases), manual methods, and automatic analyzers (CEN standards, electrochemical cell, FID) corresponding to the fields of action B, C, D, E, and F.

  • Validation of sampling plans according to the UNE-EN 15259 standard and determination of gas homogeneity in the duct.

  • Handling, adjustment, maintenance, and in situ verification of measuring equipment and auxiliary equipment (probes, flow meters, analyzers, etc.).

  • Performance of Establishment Atmospheric Controls (CAE) and comparison of the usual industrial process operating conditions against those authorized.

  • Performance of advanced technical calculations: isokinetics, nozzle diameter, limit of quantification, concentration under normal and corrected conditions, and velocity-weighted concentration.

  • Application of good practices for the preparation of sampling blanks, collection, preservation, and transport of media.

How you'll work

  • Balance and Well-being (Your time matters): * Schedule from Monday to Thursday from 08:30 to 18:00 and Friday from 08:30 to 15:10.

    • Intensive working day in July and August.

    • Intensive working day on all days prior to a holiday.

    • December 24th and 31st off.
