Requirements

What we're looking for

  • Degree in Gemology (IGE, GIA, FGA/Gem-A or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the jewelry sector, in quality, product development, or production.
  • Solid knowledge of precious and non-precious metals, alloys, plating, and manufacturing processes, as well as their costs, with experience optimizing the cost of new developments.
  • Demonstrable experience leading quality teams or managing suppliers at source.
  • Ability to solve technical problems and propose innovative solutions.
  • Availability for occasional travel, nationally and internationally.
  • High English (C1); native or bilingual Spanish.
  • Open and collaborative mindset: enjoys working in close collaboration with creative teams and has the sensitivity to understand the intention behind an idea. When faced with new or unconventional proposals, actively seeks how to make them possible instead of limiting themselves to existing solutions.
  • Curiosity and an exploratory mindset: genuine interest in expanding the technical and creative possibilities of jewelry. Has the initiative to research, experiment, and learn from new technologies, materials, processes, and suppliers.

  • Analytical thinking.
  • Clear communication with design, product, purchasing, customer service, and suppliers.
  • Autonomy, organization, and the ability to manage several projects at once.

Nice to have

  • Training in Jewelry, Materials Engineering, or similar.
  • Experience with suppliers in Asia and Europe.
  • Knowledge of European and international jewelry regulations and sustainability certifications (RJC, recycled metals, traceability).
  • Experience in D2C jewelry brands.

Pay & benefits

What you'll get

  • You will enjoy our social benefits, which include private medical coverage, gift cards, and attractive corporate discounts.
  • We are looking for someone with a sales-oriented mindset and strong customer management skills, who is enthusiastic, proactive, positive, flexible, and empathetic, with an eye for detail and sensitivity towards the product and the brand.

The role

Join Our Team!

We are currently looking for an R&D & Quality Specialist with training in gemology and deep knowledge of metals and jewelry processes. Your mission will be to guarantee the quality of every piece from the source and drive innovation in materials, finishes, and processes, optimizing the cost of each development alongside the design team. You will lead quality teams at suppliers and factories, with occasional travel when necessary.

We are looking for a person who combines technical rigor with an open and exploratory mindset: someone capable of understanding the intention behind a creative proposal and enjoying the process of researching how to make it technically possible.

What you'll do

  • Research new materials, alloys, plating, finishes, and techniques that improve the durability, comfort, and design possibilities of the pieces.
  • Propose technical solutions to design challenges and recurring issues.
  • Work proactively with the design team from the early conceptualization phases, providing technical knowledge and jointly exploring new possibilities.
  • Translate ideas and creative challenges into viable technical solutions, researching materials, processes, finishes, and suppliers when existing solutions are not sufficient.
  • Work alongside the design team on the technical feasibility and cost of each development, from sketch to prototype and production, proposing alternatives that optimize cost without compromising quality or design intention.
  • Follow industry trends and emerging technologies: lab diamonds, recycled metals, new coatings, traceability.
  • Identify, classify, and evaluate natural gems (color, purity, cut, treatments).
  • Define stone specifications by reference and validate supplier batches.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the gem information we communicate to clients and teams.
  • Define technical specifications for metals, alloys, karats, and plating, taking into account material properties, piece usage, and cost and quality requirements.
  • Recommend the most suitable metal and process for each piece according to cost, use, and positioning.
  • Lead and train quality teams at suppliers and factories, in Spain and abroad.
  • Design and implement quality standards, inspection manuals, AQL, and control protocols at every stage.
  • Perform inspections at source together with local teams and follow up on corrective action plans.
  • Analyze quality issues, identify root causes, and define corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance (REACH, nickel, lead, cadmium, precious metal hallmarks) and associated documentation.
  • Perform occasional travel to suppliers and production centers when necessary.
