Mission

As a manufacturing engineer specialized in composite materials, your main mission within the area will be to define, develop, optimize, and industrialize the production processes for manufacturing launch vehicle components.

You will act as a liaison between the Design Engineering, Production, and Quality areas, ensuring the robustness and repeatability of processes, as well as strict compliance with established technical and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

·       Definition and development of composite material manufacturing processes (raw material cutting, lay-up processes, bagging, curing cycles, trimming and drilling, sealing, etc.)

·       Definition of process parameters, material flow, and inspection points for the different required components.

·       Identification and planning of both production resources, as well as tooling and raw materials necessary to carry out the manufacturing of the required components.

·       Generation of mBOMs (Manufacturing Bills of Materials), routing operations, 3D models, and drawings necessary for the different manufacturing processes.

·       Drafting of technical documentation such as technical instructions, manuals, and forms necessary to ensure the quality of manufacturing process execution and its traceability.

·       Continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, based on results obtained during prototype production.

·       Development, management, and tracking of documentation in ERP in a meticulous and organized manner.

·       Technical support and troubleshooting in the workshop during production phases.

·       Supervision and validation of manufacturing processes.

·       Planning and launching manufacturing orders/work orders and tracking them in a timely manner to ensure proper compliance with deadlines and quality criteria.

·       Concurrent engineering with the Design and Supply Chain areas to evolve designs and improve processes in both quality and manufacturing capacity. Implementation with speed and precision.

·       Support in the design and manufacturing of tooling, as well as support equipment to facilitate component manufacturing.

·       Attention to detail and establishment of an environment of high quality standards in component manufacturing.

Required qualifications

·       Degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or similar.

·       +5 years of experience in component manufacturing processes with composite materials (Hand lay-up, AFP, Autoclave.

·       Experience with CAD (preferably NX) 3D modeling and 2D drawings.

·       Knowledge of mechanical design fundamentals, manufacturing, including practical knowledge of GD&T and design considerations.

·       Experience with ERP systems, creation and management of Work Orders, as well as Bills of Materials.

·       Experience with PLM systems (preferably TeamCenter) as a product structure management tool.

·       Full command of MS Office tools.
