The role

Sateliot is a Barcelona-based satellite company with one goal: connect everything, everywhere. Founded in 2018, we've built the first satellite constellation that lets standard commercial devices communicate directly from space. Our technology bridges the gaps that terrestrial networks will never reach, bringing affordable and secure connectivity to industries, governments, and communities across the planet.

Sateliot is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Patent Engineer to join our intellectual property team. Working closely with our R&D engineers, you will identify patentable inventions, draft and prosecute patent applications, and contribute to the strategic management of our IP portfolio. A unique opportunity to develop your career at the forefront of 5G/6G non-terrestrial networks and space technology.

What you'll do

  • Support inventors in the preparation and evaluation of invention disclosures, leading internal invention harvesting and review meetings.

  • Draft patent applications in collaboration with inventors and external counsel, translating complex technical concepts into strong, well-structured claims.

  • Conduct prior art, patentability, and freedom-to-operate (FTO) searches using relevant patent databases and tools.

  • Manage and monitor the prosecution of the patent portfolio, including designing the strategy and coordinating responses to office actions worldwide.

  • Track filing deadlines, maintenance fees, and procedural milestones, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the patent portfolio records.
