The PREFABRICATED DATA CENTER Line of Business integrates Schneider products into modular enclosures, test the systems in the factory and deliver the final solution to the country of destination. Structural & Mechanical Design Engineer (MDE) is responsible for: Developing design proposals, specifications, submittal drawings, production drawings and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost implications, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications for Prefabricated Modular Data Centers. MDE will identify the project requirements, provide design solutions to meet the customer and site requirements, and ensure the customer's best interests are protected during the project. Candidate will have a diversified portfolio of technical functions consistent with the requirements of the IOU including good knowledge on structural design, Revit, Autodesk Robots, Teckla for structural valiations, as well as software design capabilities for finite elements CREO for designing and validation of Prefab solutions. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Facilitate meetings and interviews with customer and sub-consultants. What will you do? Tender Phase: Participates in the programming of the project with the customer or customer representative to understand and document the owner's project requirements. Influence on solution to drive. Understand the codes and ordinances local to the opportunity/project. Revise structural designs during tendering stages, guide Solutions Develop appropriate design documents to support the proposal and allow the estimating team to assemble cost for the proposal. Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests. Prepare and update templates for easy quotation of structural containers, including technical specifications applicable for the project & region. Validate design from 3rd party integrators / Vendors to be according to proiect and customer expectations. Project Engineering and Factory/Comissioning Support: For projects in Barcelona facility: Design review and approval for 3rd party solutions for ISO and Non-ISO structures. Design of mechanical and structural elements of prefabricated buildings. Structural validation of steel frames, following the indications of the applicable building codes. Creation of documentation (Manufacturing drawings, calculation notes, transportation and lifting documentation, testing procedures). For projects in other facilities: Solution validation coming from 3rd party factory / supplier. Engineering support function, supporting requests from other engineering teams, factory, commisiong, sub-contractors, services, site support.. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. SKILLS & CAPABILITIES Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Capability to work in international projects under different local regulations, seismic compliance, and others.. Social media, internal networking, ability to work in internations environment. Teamwork skills. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: Travel to customer sites experiencing issues to support the technical resolution. Participate in Offer Safety related meetings. What qualifications will make you successful? EDUCATION, EXPERINCE & SKILLS Structural, mechanical or civil engineering. Minimum 3 years on structural and mechanical design of steel constructions. Good English speaking, written and verbal skills. Good Communication skills. Good capability to work in a Multi Discipline Engineering team.
