Senior Network & Security Engineer

• Education: Intermediate Vocational Training, Higher Vocational Training in technical areas.
• Languages: bilingual in Catalan and Spanish. Basic English.
• Experience: 2/3 years in network or systems operation and administration teams.
• Knowledge and experience at a medium/high demonstrable level in at least 4 of the following areas:
  • Swithing & Routing.
  • Wireless.
  • Network access control systems (NAC, RADIUS, 802.1x)
  • DNS, DHCP, NTP, IPAM systems
  • Firewalls.
  • Anti-Malware, Anti-Spam.
  • Intrusion detection and prevention systems (IPS/IDS)
• Knowledge and experience at a medium/high demonstrable level in the following areas:
  • Microsoft client operating systems.
  • Microsoft server operating systems.
  • Linux operating systems.

Our team offers end-to-end services covering consulting, design, deployment, operation, and automation of IT networks and security.

• Ensure the support of the NSOC Administrators - Level 2 during your learning process.
• Attend to the performance of tasks assigned by the NSOC Technical Team Leader within these areas:
  • Analysis and operation of monitoring systems for the proactive treatment of alerts for their resolution or identification of anomalies.
  • Evaluation and triage of alerts for their documentation, resolution, and subsequent escalation to the relevant support groups.
  • Handling of assigned requests, changes, and incidents, always ensuring compliance with service levels.
  • Management and supervision of assigned tickets, documenting all related activities and updating statuses and priority levels in the ITSM tool.
  • Handling of complex or non-procedural preventive actions for the evaluation of the status of the systems in scope.
  • Preparation of complex or critical reports, newly created procedures, and advanced technical instructions.
  • Management and supervision of the NSOC-KB (Wiki) to request updates or modifications to it from the NSOC L2 - L1 - L0 teams.
  • Planning, design, implementation, and closure of projects that by their nature are assigned to this role and within the competencies of the NSOC or PET.
• Involve yourself with the on-site service team to obtain deep knowledge of the architectures, technologies, and services in scope, as well as the technical procedures to respond to the objectives of the contracted service.
• Be, within the NSOC, the reference engineer for this service.
• Develop, evolve, and improve the technical operation procedures of the Administration and Operation levels that will execute service tasks.
• Work on recurrent knowledge transfer sessions (brainstorming, workshops...) with all technical members involved in the remote service team (NSOC + 24x7 On-call).
