Requirements
What we're looking for
You are a graduate of a recognized higher education institution - a major engineering school, possibly with additional training recognized for its excellence and business orientation - and you recognize yourself in the following profile:
- You have 5 to 8 years of engineering experience. Energy and programming are your hobbies. You know Home Assistant.
- You know how to model a business domain cleanly. If asked to represent an electricity contract with peak/off-peak hours, seasonal tariffs, and curtailment days, you know where to start.
- You are curious about the energy sector. You know why the spot price can become negative and what a domestic battery or an inverter is.
- You are autonomous. In full remote, no one will come to check what you are doing every day: you know how to organize yourself, prioritize, and communicate clearly in writing, in both French and English.
The role
We are looking for a Project Manager - Electricity Planning to join our team!
- You will join the team developing a tool capable of deciding, at any given moment, whether to consume, store, or reinject electricity for a household or an SME, anywhere in the world.
- Your mission? To design and bring to life the API that orchestrates these decisions based on plug-in prices, everywhere in the world.
- We are looking for a senior, autonomous engineer who loves building clean and high-performance systems, and who wants to contribute concretely to the energy transition.
Job Missions Selectra is recruiting a project manager to technically lead its Electricity Planning project: a real-time energy arbitrage API intended for individuals and SMEs worldwide.
What you'll do
- You will design the API architecture: modeling energy contracts, controllable assets (batteries, EV, PV, hot water tanks), and arbitrage strategies.
- You will personally arbitrate the structuring technical choices: relational or time-series database, queues, caching, deployment.
- You will write and maintain the Laravel code that calculates the arbitrage and exposes the API to internal clients and integrating partners.
- You will integrate heterogeneous price sources: spot prices, regulated tariffs, dynamic tariffs, custom contracts, across dozens of countries.
- You will optimize calculation times and API scalability (Octane, Horizon, queues, parallelization).
- You will implement the tests, monitoring, and observability that guarantee quality in production.
- You will document the API and its business concepts for internal teams and integrators.
- You will work hand in hand with the team responsible for price data entry, and with the product teams that define new use cases.
How you'll work
- Contract type: CDI
- Location: Paris, Lyon, Madrid or 100% remote (Europe, CET or compatible time zone)
- Salary: according to profile
- Start date: ASAP
Hiring process
- Step 1: Interview with the HR team
- Step 2: Interview with your future manager + test
Response to your application within a maximum of 2 weeks.
