Head of Television Headend and Distribution

High level of English, both oral and written.

Knowledge of IPTV & OTT & DTH service architecture.

Knowledge of Video Streaming protocols, RTSP, SmoothStreaming, HTSPStreaming, HLS, etc.

Knowledge of DRMs and Conditional Access.

Knowledge of video signal distribution in IP networks (CDN).

Knowledge of encoding technologies and video and audio transport (for example: RTSP, RT, HEVC, HDR, Dolby, 4k/UHD,...)

Management of TV Headends and VOD encoding.

IPTV/OTT/DTH Platforms and Services.

Capacity planning in Service Platforms.

Management of Engineering teams.

WE WANT PEOPLE LIKE YOU...You will be responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the contribution, processing, encoding, ingestion, distribution, and recording capabilities for Movistar+ audiovisual content, ensuring the end-to-end delivery of linear and on-demand services over IPTV, OTT, and DTH platforms, with the committed levels of quality, availability, and efficiency.

You will lead the strategy and evolution of television headends, aligning technology with business priorities through the planning and execution of transformative initiatives. Additionally, you will guarantee efficient management of resources, budgets, vendors, risks, and dependencies, ensuring the sustainability and future evolution of the audiovisual platform.

Challenge 1: Planning and execution of audiovisual capabilities

You will define, prioritize, and ensure the execution of the roadmap for audiovisual contribution, processing, encoding, ingestion, distribution, and recording capabilities, aligning the platform's evolution with business needs, service commitments, and Movistar+'s strategic objectives.

Challenge 2: End-to-end service assurance

You will guarantee the availability, quality, continuity, and performance of IPTV, OTT, DTH, and VoD services, exercising integral responsibility over the television headend value chain and coordinating the involved areas to ensure compliance with committed service levels.

Challenge 3: Technological evolution and platform innovation

You will drive the technological evolution of the audiovisual platform, identifying and implementing new capabilities, architectures, and solutions that allow for responding to future business challenges, improving user experience, and ensuring the scalability, sustainability, and competitiveness of the service.

Challenge 4: Efficient management of resources, investments, and vendors

You will optimize the use of technical, human, and economic resources under your responsibility, preparing and managing the function's budget, investments associated with equipment and infrastructure, as well as the relationship with vendors and manufacturers, guaranteeing maximum efficiency and the best return on investment.

Challenge 5: Leadership, governance, and continuous improvement

You will direct and develop a high-performance team, establishing a governance model based on indicators, dashboards, and quality metrics that allow you to monitor performance, manage risks, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with the organization's operational and strategic objectives.
