About the role

The Systems & Cloud Architect will play a strategic role in the design, technical validation, and deployment of IT/Cloud solutions and projects that solve our clients' needs. Knowledge and solid understanding of all technological and computing systems, both on-premise and private cloud, as well as public cloud, including front-end platforms, servers, storage, and administration networks.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the design, deployment, and control of infrastructures, establishing and leading continuous improvement dynamics for their maintenance. Positive attitude and excellent communication skills to effectively share their technical knowledge.

What you'll do

Collaborate in the design and supervision of a global work plan for transitioning services to new Operations teams.

Design, development, and technical validation of complex solutions based primarily on private cloud versus public cloud.

Make recommendations on integration strategies, IT architectures, platforms, and application architectures needed to implement a holistic solution for our clients.

Internal technological leadership within Telefónica TECH for IT transformation projects and client systems.

Work closely and collaboratively with Engineering teams and Telefónica clients to devise effective solutions that meet current and future needs and expectations.

Technical validation of solutions for clients.

Documentation of HLD and LLD designs and associated transition processes.

Your day-to-day:

Design structured enterprise architectures.

Define technical transition processes that safeguard service availability, risks, and the coordination of multidisciplinary teams.

Design and collaborate on the implementation/transformation, alongside Tech technical teams, of IT infrastructures: storage, backup, virtualization, operating systems, databases, VDI, network, security, and/or application services.

Technical leadership and coordination within the scope of projects.

Education & certifications

Education

Required:

Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or similar.

Desirable:

At least 5 years of experience as an architect on major technology consulting projects / infrastructure systems for large clients and corporations.

Experience in designing and implementing infrastructure solutions in private cloud, with potential evolution to public cloud for some services.

Technical knowledge

Knowledge of architecture, implementation, deployment, migration, and automation in virtualization environments and/or VDI.

Knowledge of high availability and Disaster Recovery solutions.

Knowledge of architecture, implementation, and configuration of Systems Platform solutions (Cisco, HPE, DELL, EMC, and NetApp).

Knowledge of operating system administration: Unix/Linux and Windows.

SAN and NAS storage solutions.

Knowledge of database solutions: Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and others.

Knowledge of backup solutions: Netbackup, Veeam, Commvault, and others.

Design datacenter solutions for critical production environments with high availability.
