The role

The Pre-Sales Engineer plays a key role in helping customers solve complex challenges in their production processes. Combining technical expertise, application knowledge, and solution design capabilities, you will work with customers and sales teams to develop customized solutions that improve operational performance and deliver measurable value.

From product demonstrations and performance validation to system design and solution development, you will act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the customer experience.

What you'll do

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the consultative sales process as a technical and applications expert.
  • Analyzing customers' processes, production requirements, and expected results to develop solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Preparing technical specifications, solution designs, performance analyses, commercial proposals, and support documentation.
  • Designing and evaluating processing systems, layouts, and integrated solutions, including third-party equipment when necessary.
  • Conducting product demonstrations, field tests, trials, validation activities, and performance optimization projects.
  • Analyzing process performance, equipment utilization, and operational data to identify optimization and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Providing technical advice on equipment configuration and application performance.
  • Conducting technical presentations, webinars, workshops for customers, and reference visits.
  • Supporting Sales and Service teams through technical training, problem-solving, and customer-facing technical support.
  • Evaluating technical, operational, and commercial requirements to recommend solutions that balance performance, reliability, scalability, and profitability.
  • Participating in design reviews with multidisciplinary teams and supporting the correct transfer of awarded projects to implementation teams.
  • Maintaining solution documentation, standard specifications, and application resources in corporate systems.
  • Monitoring industry trends, customer needs, and competitors' capabilities to contribute to solution development and business growth.
  • Sharing knowledge, best practices, and application experience with the global TOMRA Food organization.
