The role

The Biomedical Research Unit (UIB) of the Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio (UAX) is looking to recruit a Pre-doctoral Researcher (PhD) to join the SMAD (Signaling Mechanisms in Aging and Disease) laboratory, directed by Dr. Jesús Romero, within the framework of a multidisciplinary research consortium focused on synaptic dysfunction in Alzheimer's disease.

The project aims to develop human brain organoid models derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSC) to study synaptic degeneration and evaluate new therapeutic compounds in a biologically relevant context for humans. This research addresses one of the main challenges in the field, improving the translation of preclinical findings toward results with clinical impact.
