R&D Engineer — Desalination and New Technologies

ACCIONA, in its WATER business, needs to incorporate into its R&D&I Department, within the desalination area, a Chemical or Industrial Engineer for projects in the field of seawater desalination with Reverse Osmosis technologies.

Reporting to the head of the Desalination and New Technologies R&D&I area, you will be responsible for the design, coordination, execution, and monitoring of tasks associated with R&D&I projects in the field of desalination, with the aim of demonstrating the technical feasibility of new processes and configurations.

Functions:

• Coordination of the project team to ensure the timely and proper execution of the R&D&I project under your responsibility, related to the development of new desalination and water treatment processes.
• Execution of the technical activities corresponding to the assigned R&D&I project: support for the design of the pilot plant(s), definition of the experimental and analytical plan, execution of experiments, supervision of the results of the pilot plant(s), advanced data analysis, drawing conclusions, preparation of reports and presentations, process simulations/projections with membrane manufacturer software, etc.
• Technical-economic management of the assigned project: mainly planning, monitoring, and reporting.
• Contribution to the business transfer of the results of the assigned R&D&I projects and protection of results.
• Conception of new configurations, processes, and systems, and preparation of the associated proposals for new projects.
• Conducting technology watch to identify new advances in the desalination area and new technologies, and critical analysis of them.
• Support to the business to optimize existing proprietary technologies or solve operational problems.
• Preparation of reports and/or presentations (in Spanish and/or English).

The desalination and new technologies R&D&I area currently focuses its activity on 4 pillars, so the assigned project will be on one of the following topics.

• Desalination through reverse osmosis, especially with the aim of reducing its energy consumption.
• Treatment and valorization of brines.
• Desalination pre-treatments.
• Desalination post-treatments.

ACCIONA, en su negocio de AGUA precisa incorporar a su Departamento de I+D+i, dentro del área de desalación, un/a Ingeniero/a Química o Industrial para proyectos en el ámbito de desalación de agua de mar con tecnologías de Osmosis Inversa.

Reportando al responsable del área de I+D+i de Desalación y Nuevas Tecnologías, será responsable del diseño, coordinación, ejecución, y monitorización de las tareas asociadas a proyectos de I+D+i en el campo de la desalación, con el objetivo de demostrar la viabilidad técnica de nuevos procesos y configuraciones

Funciones:

• Coordinación del equipo de proyecto para garantizar la ejecución en tiempo y forma del proyecto de I+D+i a su cargo, relacionado con el desarrollo de nuevos procesos de desalinización y tratamiento de agua
• Ejecución de las actividades técnicas correspondientes al proyecto de I+D+i asignado: apoyo al diseño de la/s planta/s piloto/s, definición del plan experimental y analítico, ejecución de experimentos, supervisión de los resultados de la planta/s piloto/s, análisis avanzado de datos, extracción de conclusiones, elaboración de informes y presentaciones, simulaciones/proyecciones de procesos con softwares de fabricantes de membranas, etc.
• Gestión técnico-económica del proyecto asignado: planificación, monitorización y reporting principalmente
• Contribución a la transferencia a negocio de los resultados de los proyectos de I+D+i asignados y protección de resultados
• Ideación de nuevas configuraciones, procesos y sistemas, y elaboración de las propuestas de nuevos proyectos asociadas
• Realización de vigilancia tecnológica para identificar nuevos avances en el área de desalación y nuevas tecnologías, y análisis crítico de los mismos
• Apoyo a negocio para optimizar tecnologías existentes propias o bien resolver problemas operacionales.
• Elaboración de informes y/o presentaciones (castellano y/o inglés)

El área de desalación y nuevas tecnologías de I+D+i actualmente centra su actividad en 4 pilares, por lo que el proyecto asignado será de las siguientes temáticas

• Desalación mediante ósmosis inversa, especialmente con el objetivo de reducir su consumo energético
• Tratamiento y valorización de salmueras
• Pre-tratamientos de la desalación
• Post-tratamientos de la desalación
