About the company & team

We are one of the most important food and supermarket chains in the world and creators of Discount. Our history dates back to 1945, when the brothers Theo and Karl Albrecht took over the grocery business that their family had run since 1913 in Essen (Germany). From the beginning, we have always kept in mind how important it is to know the customer and give them what they need at the best price. In Spain, we opened the first supermarket in 2002 and we already have more than 400 establishments
