The position aims to prevent failures, reduce maintenance costs, improve equipment performance, and guarantee the operational continuity necessary for the correct supply of raw materials to the ArcelorMittal Sestao Steelworks.

What you'll do

  1. Reliability Engineering and Continuous Improvement
    • Analyze available data from the Scrap Yard equipment to identify failure patterns, recurrences, and improvement opportunities.
    • Review deficiencies detected during corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance, defining technical improvement actions.
    • Determine the need to perform RCA (Root Cause Analysis) on critical, repetitive, or high operational impact breakdowns.
    • Monitor key maintenance and reliability indicators: availability, MTBF, MTTR, compliance with the preventive plan, recurrences, backlog, and maintenance cost.
    • Drive continuous improvement of assets, reducing recurrent failures, unplanned downtime, and safety risks associated with the technical state of the equipment.
  2. Maintenance Strategy and Planning
    • Develop, review, and optimize maintenance strategies for the Scrap Yard assets.
    • Define equipment criticality and select the most suitable type of maintenance: preventive, predictive, planned corrective, or condition-based.
    • Guarantee the technical consistency of the maintenance plan and its alignment with the actual criticality of the assets and with Operations' needs.
    • Record and keep the maintenance plan updated in SAP PM through task lists, maintenance plans, counters, measuring points, task lists, and technical histories.
  3. Management of Critical Scrap Yard Assets
    1. Act as the technical reliability reference for gantry cranes, overhead cranes, lifting systems, translation systems, and associated electrical power supply.
    2. Supervise the reliability of oxy-cutting equipment, dropballing, mobile machinery, and auxiliary equipment in the yard.

    6. Support the transition towards predictive maintenance and advanced data-driven asset management.
  4. Management of Spare Parts, Repairables, and Maintenance Contracts
  5. Standards, Procedures, and Document Management
  6. Investment Projects, Revamping, and Digitalization
  7. Safety, Health and Environment
    1. Plan and follow up on preventive activities in your area, in line with the Prevention Plan.
