The role

At ArcelorMittal Sestao we are looking for a Quality Engineer for the External Quality department of our plant in Sestao, whose main mission is to coordinate activities related to customer satisfaction.

What you'll do

  • Guarantee the conformity of manufactured products through the correct application of available tools and compliance with established procedures, focused mainly on the Automotive sector
  • Act as an auditor of processes and critical parameters that impact the quality and conformity of the manufactured material, in addition to coordinating customer and external audits such as IATF 16949 audits.
  • Coordinate with the process areas and other plant departments to maximize operational efficiency, offering specialized advice regarding quality matters.

  • Use the A2C Inquiry and WF Management tools to validate manufacturing characteristics in new orders.
  • Perform the monitoring and documentation of internally defined continuous improvement projects

What we're looking for

The main responsibilities of this position are the following:

  • Required training: Training in Chemical/Industrial/Materials engineering
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar position, in Quality, Product, or Improvement departments
  • Ability for decision-making, with a proactive and dynamic approach.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Competencies in negotiation and conflict management, oriented towards constructive solutions.
  • Solid analytical capacity, including the use of statistical tools for data interpretation.
  • Knowledge of Quality management and regulations (ISO, IATF., PDCA, WHY/WHY). Preferably with short/medium-term experience in the sector in Quality, Product, or Improvement departments
  • Advanced English
  • MS Office knowledge - knowledge of Excel Macros is valued.

Nice to have

  • Specific training in Materials or Steelmaking will be valued
