Join AXA Partners as Head of Data Platform, Engineering & Analytics

Data is a key part of AXA's journey "from Payer to Partner", and its transformation to a Data Driven company. To succeed in this journey, AXA Partners data strategy has been organised around 6 dimensions: Data Value, Data Usage, Data Protection & Quality, Data Platform, Data Governance and Data Culture.

The Head of Data Platform, Engineering & Analytics owns the Data Platform dimension that supports the others.

His main role is to provide strong IT capabilities foundations and global framework constituting the AXA Partners Target Data Platform.

To reach this ambition, he is responsible for selecting, delivering, and maintaining cloud technologies, components or commodities through sustainable data operations with high level quality of service and cost-effectiveness, enabling any analytical initiatives, to provide at the end business value across AXA Partners.

AXA Partners has defined a decentralized operating model for data encouraging data teams in BUs and Regions to acquire autonomy in data usages. In that context, the Head of Data Platform, Engineering & Analytics is expected to provide simple, secure, ready-to-use and common framework, to support other data teams on the operationality of their data assets, while animating the Data Engineers & Analysts network.

What you'll do

  • IT & Data Platform Ownership

    • Manage Data Platform components per AXA standards
    • Develop, deploy, and maintain applications
    • Implement FinOps, DevOps, and ITSCM strategies
    • Regularly assess quality, SLAs, and enhance services
    • Automate data treatments and expand Data & Innovation offerings
  • Strategic & Architectural Contributor

    • Monitor market trends for platform evolution
    • Identify opportunities from business needs and feedback
    • Collaborate with Data Architects to optimize value and costs
  • Data Point of Contact

    • Lead Architecture Review Board for Data platform
    • Liaise with data providers and IT teams
    • Manage relationships with vendors (e.g., Databricks, Microsoft)
    • Define sourcing strategies for projects and operations
  • Representation & Community Leadership

    • Represent AXA Partners on Data Engineering boards
    • Engage in group networks, share practices, and promote innovation
  • Team Management

    • Lead the Central Data team (Data Analysts, Engineers, DevOps)
    • Support team growth, manage external resources
    • Organize activities, monitor progress, foster best practices
    • Drive SLA, time-to-data, and value objectives
  • Data Guild & Network Development

    • Build a community of practice and Center of Expertise
    • Improve engineering standards and operational guidelines
    • Promote cross-entity knowledge sharing
    • Support training, certifications, and resource development
