What you'll do
As Area Sales Manager Spain & France / Animal Nutrition Feed Enzymes & Feed Performance Ingredients, your key responsibilities will include:

Drive business growth and develop customer-focused solutions through close collaboration with customers.
- Monitors sales budgets, taking corrective action where necessary. Sales Excellence (Account Plans, FC, accurate on-time reporting, budgeting).
- Develop/manage customer portfolio and partnerships in order to grow sales with specialty products.
- Prepares comprehensive local market analysis with focus on market demand, market share and in-depth understanding about the entire value chain.
- Creates, implements and updates sales concepts for the relevant industry field(s), taking SBU strategies and the local/sub regional characteristics into account. Supports the local/regional implementation of cross regional projects, sponsored by Business Unit.
- Contribute ideas/ market knowledge to develop innovation pipeline together with technical experts. ensuring mid- to long-term growth options.
- Accountability for Regional NS and CM1 of the assigned area.
- Establish best practices / sales excellence and beyond reg. Account Plans, Visit Reports, Market Dialogues, Management Dialogues. Excel CRM activities such as Visit Reports, Chatter Posts, Opportunity Pipeline, Price documentation, IFT Forecasting etc.
- Management contact and escalation point for decision makers at the customer, in charge of (re-) building a sustainable relationship matrix (including contract board preparation/ involvement of senior management).
- In charge of leading and guiding the re-negotiation of existing contracts, setting of optimized growth contracts in close alignment.
- In charge of defining the opportunity pipeline, endorsed by customer management and all BASF stakeholders Tracking of conversion rate, countermeasures (such as customer trials, joint developments, etc).
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- University degree/ master's degree/PhD or equivalent in Animal Nutrition or Veterinary.
- 3-5 years sales or technical sales experience in animal nutrition (feed ingredients) or technical background in animal nutrition.
- Language of assigned customer base and proficient English language skills orally and in writing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with an international network.
- Project management and regional collaboration.
- Positive mindset, customer focus and strong motivation to capture market share.
- Negotiation skills and partnership development.
- Pricing management, entrepreneurial mindset, forecasting and order management.

Highly valuable knowledge of SAP, Salesforce, and Microsoft 365 applications.
