Project Description:

We would like to count on an ambitious professional with judgment and an independent mindset to join the team that will shape a new Multi Family Office.

The Multi-Family Office is a newly created specialized unit oriented toward providing comprehensive strategic advisory services to clients, focused on the organization, preservation, and long-term growth of wealth, with autonomy in judgment and management. The unit operates as an independent subsidiary 100% owned by BBVA.

The position offers the opportunity to participate in the creation and development of a project from its inception, which entails both the appeal of building the area from scratch and the challenge of adapting to an environment and processes currently being defined, with the backing of the entity.

Purpose of the role:

Lead the strategy and advisory in alternative investments and private markets (Private Equity, Venture Capital, Private Debt, and Infrastructure) directly oriented toward the wealth needs of clients. The Senior Private Equity / Alternatives Specialist will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and proposing investment opportunities in private markets (funds, direct co-investments, and secondaries) aligned with the wealth strategies of the MFO clients, accompanying them in the allocation and structuring process for long-term value creation.

What you'll do

Scope of action and main responsibilities:

  • Design and propose private market investment strategies (Private Equity, Venture Capital, Private Debt, and Infrastructure) customized according to the risk profile, time horizon, and liquidity needs of each client.

  • Integrate the alternative asset proposal within the client's global wealth plan, coordinating with Family Officers and tax and legal specialists.

  • Identify, filter, and analyze opportunities in private markets through the entire execution spectrum: primaries (funds), secondary market (purchase of LP interests / continuation vehicles), and direct co-investments in companies.

  • Lead and coordinate complete analysis and verification processes (due diligence financial, strategic, operational, and legal) supported by specialists and external advisors.

  • Support the negotiation and review of agreements, commitment letters (*subscription docs*), and investment structures alongside legal teams and the clients themselves.

  • Accompany the *Family Officers* in client meetings to explain investment proposals in private markets (fund theses, secondaries, or direct co-investments) and follow up on their capital commitments.

  • Act as an expert interlocutor for clients, top-tier international and national managers, co-investors, and financial institutions.

What we're looking for

Key requirements

  • Proven experience: Around 10 years of relevant experience in private markets (Private Equity, alternative assets, direct co-investments, secondary market, or selection/due diligence of international venture capital funds), focused on the analysis, selection, and structuring of investment opportunities. Previous experience in defining customized investment strategies for ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWI), family groups, or wealth advisory entities is highly valued.

  • Academic background: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management, Economics, Finance, or Law (Double Degree is valued). Specialized certification (CFA) or postgraduate training in finance/private markets is valued.

  • Languages: Native Spanish and professional/fluent English (a third language such as French is valued).

Technical competencies:

  • Global knowledge of private and alternative markets: Deep understanding of international PE and VC dynamics, capital cycles, secondary market transactions, direct co-investments, and analysis of global managers.

  • Investment analysis and valuation capacity: Financial modeling, evaluation of investment theses, operational performance metrics, and complete due diligence for both funds and direct companies.

  • Client-oriented vision: Ability to translate the technical complexity of private market operations and instruments into simple, transparent wealth proposals tailored to the client.

Soft skills (Soft Skills):

  • Independent judgment and professional rigor: Capacity for objective and impartial argumentation based on the client's interest.

  • Excellent communication and international interlocution skills: Ability to convey complex private market concepts clearly and influence high-profile clients, investment committees, and global managers positively.

  • Orientation toward teamwork and collaboration: Ease in collaborating fluidly with Family Officers, cross-functional specialists, and external advisors.

  • Flexibility and adaptation: Ability to develop proficiently in a newly created and building environment.

  • Empathy and long-term relationship vision: Capacity to generate trust, listen actively, and build lasting relationships.
