In our Substation Engineering division, we get involved in a wide variety of pioneering projects, working with the most innovative clients in the Petrochemical, Chemical, Energy, Pharmaceutical, Food, Construction, and Civil Works sectors.

We are looking for a Mechanical QA/QC Manager to expand one of our teams in Bilbao, to lead and supervise Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities in mechanical engineering projects, with a strong focus on EPC environments.

• QA/QC Planning and Execution: Develop, implement, and manage Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) plans specific to mechanical projects, ensuring compliance with internal regulations, client requirements, and applicable industry standards (ASME, API, etc.).
• Technical Supervision: Direct and supervise the team of mechanical QA/QC inspectors and technicians, assigning tasks, reviewing reports, and ensuring the correct execution of inspections and tests.
• Non-Conformance Management: Establish and manage procedures for the identification, documentation, analysis, and resolution of non-conformances, proposing corrective and preventive actions.
• Audits and Reviews: Perform and coordinate internal and external quality audits, as well as reviews of technical documentation (drawings, specifications, welding procedures, etc.) to guarantee conformity.
• Supplier and Subcontractor Management: Evaluate and qualify suppliers and subcontractors regarding their quality systems, performing monitoring and periodic audits.
• Inspection and Testing: Supervise the execution of non-destructive testing (NDT) and destructive testing, as well as inspections of materials, fabrication, assembly, and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems.
• Quality Documentation: Ensure the correct generation, review, approval, and filing of all documentation related to quality (inspection plans, certificates, test reports, etc.).
• Reporting: Prepare periodic reports on quality status, detected risks, and QA/QC system performance for project management and the corresponding departments.
• Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the team and in collaboration with other departments.
• Health and Safety: Ensure that all QA/QC activities are carried out in compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
• Risk Management: Identify and evaluate potential risks related to quality in all phases of the project and propose mitigation measures.
• Coordination: Maintain fluid and effective communication with the engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and client teams.
