What we're looking for

5 years (minimum) of experience developing Python backends, with services in production on Google Cloud.
Advanced Python: asynchronous APIs, FastAPI or similar, Pydantic, strict typing, and unit and integration testing (pytest).
API Design: REST with OpenAPI, versioning, idempotency, error handling, and authentication (OAuth2/OIDC).
Databases: relational (PostgreSQL in Cloud SQL or AlloyDB) with SQLAlchemy, migrations, and query optimization; NoSQL (Firestore) and caching (Memorystore/Redis).
Asynchronous processing and events: Pub/Sub and Cloud Tasks, with retries, consumer idempotency, and dead-letter topics.
GCP Services: Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Cloud Scheduler, and Cloud Workflows.
Integration with external and legacy systems: REST, SOAP, XML, and JSON with schema validation, webhooks, and certificate authentication (mTLS).
Architecture: microservices and modular monolith (and when to use each), Domain-Driven Design fundamentals, and resilience patterns (timeouts, retries, circuit breaker).
Deployment: Docker, Artifact Registry, and CI/CD with Cloud Build or GitHub Actions.
English B2 or higher.
University degree (Bachelor's/Master's) or equivalent proven experience.

Nice to have

Google Cloud Professional Cloud Developer certification.
Experience with GKE and Kubernetes.
Event-driven architectures, outbox pattern, and CQRS.
Apigee or API Gateway.
BigQuery as an application data source or destination.
AI integration in applications: consuming LLM APIs (Gemini in Vertex AI or others), with streaming, structured outputs, and timeout and error management.
Infrastructure as code with Terraform.

The role

We are looking for a Cloud Developer with a solid foundation in Python and a practical, results-oriented mindset: someone who designs, develops, and deploys native applications and services on GCP and takes responsibility for ensuring they function reliably, securely, and maintainably. If you are motivated by building robust backends, integrating them with client systems, and providing them with generative AI capabilities, this position is for you.

You will work as a lead developer in the application layer of high-impact projects, working closely with data architects, AI Engineers, data engineers, and platform engineers.

What you'll do

You will develop APIs and application services: REST APIs with clear contracts, versioning, and idempotency, deployed on Cloud Run and Cloud Functions.
You will implement asynchronous and event-driven processes: Pub/Sub, Cloud Tasks, and Cloud Workflows, with retries and idempotent consumers.
You will integrate solutions with client systems: REST and SOAP APIs, XML and JSON exchange with schema validation, and authentication with certificates.
You will design application persistence: relational models in Cloud SQL or AlloyDB, NoSQL, and caching, with controlled migrations and optimized queries.
You will take your services to production: Docker, CI/CD, and unit and integration testing, so that every deployment is reliable and repeatable.
You will incorporate AI capabilities into applications: you will integrate the team's generative AI services into real application flows whenever the project requires it.
You will contribute to continuous improvement: development best practices in Google Cloud, reusable components, and technical improvement proposals.
You will contribute to pre-sales and proposals: you will prepare technical estimates, architectures for RFP/RFI, and participate in demos and PoCs with clients.
