-           University degree in Mining Engineering

-           At least 3 years of experience in the field related to mining construction (quarries, public works)

-           It is important that the person is accustomed to field/site work

-           Proficiency in AutoCAD

-           Knowledge of English and/or French is a plus

Cupa Pizarras is the undisputed world leader in roofing slate. One out of every three slates in the world has come from our quarries in Valdeorras, from where we export to more than 90 countries across five continents. 

We extract slate from our quarries and interior mines, and transform it at our production plants in the Valdeorras area, from where we export to the rest of the world. One of the major challenges the Group currently faces is the automation and application of technology and artificial intelligence to the production process. We are fully immersed in an Industry 4.0 project, the "fourth industrial revolution", which will allow us to implement intelligent technologies in our extraction, production, logistics, and transport processes, among others.

In this context of change and industrial revolution, we are looking for a Mining Engineer to carry out important field functions at our quarries and facilities located in the Valdeorras area. The position requires some office work, but most of the time will be spent doing field work.

Reporting directly to the Production Management, and managing a total of 15 to 50 people, your functions and responsibilities will be:

-           Executive management of the operation

-           Fulfillment of the production budget for the centers under their responsibility

-           Management and organization of the resources necessary to ensure production (personnel, machinery, consumables, etc…)

-           Coordination of the auxiliary tasks necessary to ensure the main activity

-           Resolution of production and personnel incidents

-           Execution, control, and supervision of administrative procedures for explosives

-           Reporting to the production management
