Warehouse Handling Operations

We are expanding our team at DHL Freight Spain!

At DHL Freight Spain, we are looking for a warehouse specialist for the warehouse at our Irun terminal (Gipuzkoa, Basque Country) to develop and manage plans and processes for land and warehouse operations; to ensure smooth operations for the movement, storage, and inventory control of materials, finished products, tools, and packaging; and to meet the specific requirements of cost, quality, customer, and market in line with business strategy and corporate policies and guidelines.

• Receive, sort, and process incoming/outgoing materials/loads, parts, products, supplies, and equipment according to defined schedules, established procedures, and regulations.
• Verify and endorse the accurate receipt and dispatch of cargo with the relevant documentation.
• Manually load and unload materials onto and from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves, and ensure that cargo is stored in the assigned positions.
• Load materials and goods onto vehicles/trucks/containers and use hand tools to install strapping, reinforcement, and padding.
• Carry out cargo movement, complying with regulations and internal procedures, and update shipment status accordingly.
• Assist with stock counts and reconciliation of any inventory discrepancies, cycle counting, and order processing response times.
• Update inventory records, including those for customer stock.
• Guide and carry out the physical handling of cargo, the accurate execution of all receiving and order processing operations, and ensure that cargo is packed according to specifications.
• Identify and resolve recurring issues and suggest modifications related to warehouse and manual handling methods, focusing on promoting efficiency, faster service, and lower costs.
• Manage and execute warehouse/distribution center activities related to movement, tools, and packaging (e.g., order pickers and packers).
• Pack items for shipment according to specifications.
• Receive or inspect goods, scan and verify items against the shipping record.
• Operate gas or electric forklifts to move, stack, load, or unload materials, parts, and goods.
• Consolidate shipments.
• Create unit load devices.

• Intermediate or advanced vocational training (FPI or FPII) related to the position.
• At least 2 years of experience in the sector in a similar position.
• Valid forklift license and experience in daily forklift operation.
